Woodmead, which has received a five star rating for its overall golfing experience, is home to two superb golf courses: Woodmead (ranked 9) and the newly rebuilt Rocklands.
WOODMEAD
On the Woodmead course significant changes have been made which include profound mounding in strategic places and dams that were previously hidden, have become part of the aesthetics. This is a parkland course and the fairways on many of the holes are lined with large exotic trees.
Don’t let the beauty of this layout distract you, as this challenging course requires the golfer of any level to concentrate throughout the round. It is a test of intelligence rather than strength and offers a stimulating experience to those who play it.
ROCKLANDS
The Rocklands course is designed with the indigenous South African bushveld as the backdrop and also includes numerous water challenges for the golfer. Carved out of the original Cullinan Farm from which the land was purchased in 1968 this course was created to blend in with the environment and reflect a beauty and tranquility essential to the abundant bird life on the estate.
This is a course that offers a fine tapestry of undulating fairways, bent grass greens and beautiful water features giving each golfer a memorable challenge unequalled anywhere in the cities of South Africa.
The courses compliment each other and offer the golfer the choice of two very different golfing experiences. The wealth of natural resources has been blended together creating a harmonious balance between nature and the urban development surrounding the estate.Book a Tee Time

This must be one the top courses in and around JHburg at the moment. The two courses are in immaculate condition and the greens are lightening fast.
The clubhouse facilities are excellent and cater to anybodies needs. I noticed businessmen regularly having their breakfast and or business meetings in the halfway house.
The pro-shop can compete with any high-street golf/pro shop and the prices are very competitive, unlike most other course pro shops.

This club has excellent facilities at very reasonable prices. Both courses are in very good condition, but Woodmead is an absolute to get at least one game on. Fantastic super fast greens, lots of water makes in quite a challenge but still can be enjoyed by the longer H/Capper. A great course to end a golfing holiday in South Africa.
