Golf du Touquet
Golf du Touquet features two 18 hole golf courses and a 9 hole course on site. Inaugurated in 1904, La Forêt is beautifully set among the pine trees of Le Touquet. Players of all levels will experience some unforgettable moments on this calm and peaceful course.
Superbly sculpted within the dunes, reminiscent of a Scottish links, the centre stage for numerous Major championships, La Mer Course has been Le Touquet’s crowning glory for more than 60 years. Famous world-wide, the beauty of the dunes overlooking the Channel takes one’s breathe away, as well as the tempestuous winds which reign over the course...an even stronger adversary.
The Manoir course is ideal for those who wish to perfect their golf or simply for the beginner. This 9-hole course helps one to practice the different aspects and difficulties of the game.Contact Information

La Foret better than La Mer. Nice courses but better courses available at Belle Dune (Fort Mahon) and Les Pins (Hardelot), a bit of a drive away.

Played le foret in June. Basically a parkland course, not much water. Quite a long course from my perspective. Certainly encourages you to get the driver out on every hole. In pretty good condition.

As previous review, we played both courses: La Mer in brilliant sunshine with a bit of wind and then the next day La foret in horizontal drizzle. The courses were a good challenge, with La Mer being a links course, but through high dunes, so you only get to see the sea from a raised viewpoint close to the 17th tee. La foret does not go up and down quite so much and plays a lot like a cross between a links course and parkland - think links with trees. Clubhouse changing facilities are basic, bar restaurant small but good quality.
Our overnight stay was at the Le Manoir hotel across the road from the course - very good, with friendly staff. The Course

We played both courses (le Foret amd le Mer) and enjoyed both of them. Le Mer is the tougher challenge especially if the wind blows with le Foret being more like a british parkland/woodland course.
On both courses there are only a few holes where you are even aware of the rest of the course with either the dunes or the trees making you feel you are on the only hole around.
Beware of the long walk from the club house to le Mer and be warned that there are no facilities at the le Mer first tee, only a starters hut.
If you want a buggy book early, there is not a large number available.
The club house facilities are limited and tend to close pretty early, but most of the staff speak English and are very keen to help. The Course

La Foret is the plainest of the courses we have played in the area. There are one or two very nice holes but in general it is a game of two halves. the front nine is totally uninspiring but the back nine is a little more af a challenge. The best hole - the par 5 11th. Hit a good drive and then go for the green if you dare. Truly wonderful to see a ball fly straight through the tree lined opening to the elevated green. I hit a birdie - and lost the hole to my buddies eagle .... and it actually felt good!!

It's the first course I played in France and I wasn't impressed. The course is poor, your ball lay in bare ground in the middle of the fairway which are really bumpy!! People are walking in the middle of the course to go back to the cllub house.
Really disapointed and quite expensive. The Course

played Le Foret in July 2008, we went on a tour for 3 days. last year we played Le Mer and this is by far the better course! quite expensive (£60) around, and to be fair i now think the complex operates on the past glory, was very shabby. the best course in the area by far is Belle Dune, absolutely beautiful, and excellent value for money. Le Touquet is still a great area to pitch in, but try and venture out a bit as you will find better courses and better value for money!! at £60.00 per round on either course, i think you will be dissapointed.

Le Mer definitely the better course, far more challenging. La Foret not up to the same standard, though definitely worth a round if you are in the area. Good value food aswel.
