Nice day out at Kingswood today. Despite all the rain and the poor condition of the greens over the summer, the course today was in good nick. The greens were firm and no standing water, the fairways were pretty good with some areas under repair. Overall pretty good.

This is a work in progress, there is unbounded potential here, with a variety of ways to play the course, there are risk and reward holes, such as the doglegs 13 & 15. then there are the more difficult holes 12th & 17th.There is room on most holes to be slightly wayward, however the par 3s, 3rd, 8th,& 14th you need to be accurate as you play over water to all of them. The Course

course is looking good after all the new drainage installed over the winter. New tees on 7th and 15th holes and new greens due to open on 9th and 18th holes shortly. Roads have been covered and new planting has taken place on the banking that line most of the fairways.
New water hazard on the 2nd hole and the 12th fairway narrower since the roadway has been filled.
Food in bistro is still as good as ever. 18 holes and 2 course meal all for £20 cant be bad.The Course

Just want to review this course now its coming to end of summer and green/tee area will be at their most battered.
Numerous greens are under repair and greens moved without any notice which when its on a dog-leg and the hole is hidden from tee then it can be frustrating to know you could have altered your tactics on the hole and improved your chance of a decent up and down.
18th green has been ripped up completely and moved to somewhere where putting in a farmers field would reap better results.
£10 is still good price but at that price, it attracts the undesirable "jeans and trainers" brigade which annoys.
Would say its a course which will suit someone starting out as they have excellent facilities on-site for tuition, classes, driving range etc but I also think it will be a course that you will outgrow if you are serious about taking the game up.
In terms of the course, it has plenty of challenge and variety but as mentioned, the price reflects in the quality of the greenkeeping and fairways on view with fairways patchy in places. Water is used to good effect as well. The Course

Excellent course for beginners wanting to hit about on a 18 hole course without annoying members and people who dont take too kindly to "outsiders" which can be the experience at more expensive establishments.
A lot of holes still in development however and hardened golfers may find a bit underdeveloped with rubble tracks the course along numerous holes.
Overall, good course for just £10 at weekend and with a bit of work could get much betterThe Course

Course still under development so expect rough areas and lots of GUR. Allowing for this and the fact that its only £10 for 18 holes at the weekend makes it perfect for anyone like myself who is getting into the sport and finds 18 holes at a more established golf course a bit daunting.
Greens are good generally although some could do with a little TLC over the coming winter periods and some holes are played with the M18 motorway on your shoulder.
Lots of challenges for all abilities with water featuring on many of the holes.
Clubhouse is excellent value for money and has a very modern feel to it. there is also a driving range and a practice pitch-n-putt for your to brush up on those troublesome areas.
Anyone used to more exclusive clubs will not like this but for somewhere that has a family feel rather than a gentleman's club then this is perfect for you.The Course

Played this course today, for the green fee required. it really is value for money. The course is improving every time we play. still a long way to go, but the welcome was friendly. the course is getting better and the ground staff seem to be getting on top of it. genral overall, its worth a punt of anyones money at £9 for 18 weekday. unless yer up yerself and pompus. in which case, dont bother. just go pay £25 for the same experience. the greens were in excellent condition and there must be at least 8 holes with water featuring. Just give it one chance, im sure you will like it. its only £9!!!

Fairly new course still with construction going on. Good layout, but very poor tees and greens. Good clubhouse and pro shop and driving range. Very cheap at £10 for a weekend 18 holes.
