Bramford Golf Club
Loraine Way, Bramford, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP8 4JS United Kingdom
The 9 hole course is the “icing on the cake” for the venue that has the complete golfing experience and the construction of new tees means that shortly there will be 18 different tees offering even more variety.
Maturing nicely since its completion, the course made up of par 3’s and par 4’s totaling just over 2000 yards presents a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all ability as it winds its way through the lakes.
Shot making and sound course management will be required to negotiate the course successfully with water coming into play on no less than seven of the nine holes. Big hitters will have to think carefully before opening their shoulders as landing areas at long distance are tight to say the least. The need for accuracy will far out weigh the need for length as you will see from the moment you step onto the first tee. Generous size greens should be easy enough to hit but all are undulating and contain subtle borrows that will take time to learn. Book a Tee Time

A really good nine holer, and a pretty challenging one at that! Water is everywhere and even on a couple of the holes that may look a bit easier, the presence of water makes you think twice about the shot that you are going to hit. More than that, the greens are kept really well considering that it is a stand alone 9hole.

This is a brand new 9 hole course (May 2007) but do not be fooled by the score card stats, Oh and bring plenty of balls and a wet suit, very testing for levels of golf, this course will seek out the bandit!!

A new course, only opened May 2007, but certainly does not play like one. The greens are plush, and with almost every hole involving water (the course is part of the Suffolk Water Park), it is a challenge for any golfer.
The fact it is only 9 holes does not put me off, and the 2nd/11th plays from a different tee depending on what hole you are playing. The 11th adds an extra 75 yards by teeing off over the water.
Feature hole for me is the 8th. A 324 yard tight par 4, with water down both sides waiting to gobble up the slightly wayward tee shots. Even a straight tee shot will find itself amongst some very large mounds.
I would recommend this course to anyone, and it is only going to get better - and therefore more expensive - in the months and years to come.
