Woking Golf Club
Woking is a heathland course providing the golfer with a test characterised by beautiful but menacing heather carries, fast running fairways and greens full of “subtle” slopes. Complementing this, the player is frequently treated to grand views, as the rise and fall of an interesting topography unfolds, enhancing an architecture which, over the last century, has influenced the thinking of many course designers. As great golf vistas go that from the 11th tee with its commanding view of the 5th and 6th holes offers a glorious reward for the player who is able to pause for a moment before taking the driver from the bag. Excellent course, some nice holes my favourite being the 14th with a green perched in front of the clubhouse patio. 18th is a nice finishing hole. The course was in good condition, nice greens but maybe could be tidied up between the tee boxes and the fairway. Clubhouse is fantastic, one of the most traditional I have seen and you can taste the history of the club, first class welcome and service

I thought this course was great. A real test of my game especially after 3 holes I was still at level par. lots of interesting holes on an established course. Unable to give an opinion of the clubhouse as it was shut when my round was completed. Challenging holes if a little off targety as there is plenty of heather to loose your ball in just off the fairways. I would be willing to play again if the opportunity arrives.

I grew up on this course, due to my Gandparents being the Stewards. I couldn't have asked for a better learning ground than Hook Heath with the 6th & 16th being my favourites. Have not been back for a while but must plan a visit.

Woking GC is steeped in history, and a members club. The welcome is friendly, and a good tough course off the Whites, was 6340. A good test of ability and some great driving holes, a bit of planning is required for ditches, etc. Recommend a visit, well worth while.
