Wickham Park Golf Club
Titchfield Lane, Wickham, Fareham, Hampshire, PO17 5PJ United Kingdom
Now ten-years old and maturing extremely well, the course length is 5,868 yards, featuring two par 5s. Our signature 2nd hole is 404 yards with a dog leg to the left creating an interesting second approach shot to the green, which many players tend to underestimate at their peril.

Took advantage of one of the many offers available via the internet as a trail for a possible visit by my society. Despite confirming our tee time and cost by phoning direct they initially tried to charge £26 per person rather than £51 for a fourball. This was resolved but when we approached the first tee there was a scene of chaos. Apparently a block of tee times were double booked. Interesting the level of abuse the veteran members both male and female threw at each other and the young course steward - poor lad, probably on minimum wage and not in any way responsible. On the 9th I had my ball deliberately hit back at me on the tee from the fairway by a member. For a club obviously trying to gain new business they appear to have a serious problem with visitors.
The Course is a parkland course which has wide fairways - It is difficult to lose a ball. The front 9 and second nine circuit in parallel and this results in a number of very similar holes. A dull and unimaginative golf experience made considerably worse by the some members who behaved particularly poorly.
Best avoided.

Not sure Buggies should be allowed on the course when it is as wet as it has been lately..

Play too long during the winter on the Greens leaves them a bit shabby during Spring.

12th Hole is a temporary and difficult to putt. Overall the course is still quite wet and some holes have standing water in and around them.

wickham park is a good course if you have a handicap of 10 and upwards, but can have a few stings in the tail?

Just up the road from me. A little easy off of an 8, even off the back tee's. A helluva lot of work has gone into the course although the greens could do with some tlc. It drains very well in the winter. Relatively cheap and generally quiet.
Seriously considering a membership there. Pro shop staff are a lot more welcoming than the arrogant guys up the road.

Cracking course I have never experienced poor greens at Wickham and have played there in all seasons. Fully recommend for "after work golf" and the sunday afternoon knock. Club house could be better but staff make up for it !

This is a course to particularly good to use for two reasons; the first is due to its excellent drainage, when other courses are muddy and un-playable Wickham’s conditions are always good. The second is their twig light rate, I work within 20 minutes of Wickham so once a week in the summer months we finish work at 5pm tee of prior to 6pm and play 18 holes for £11.20 The 12th is a great nearest the pin hole, a 139 yard par 3 with an elevated tee and a ditch protecting the front of the green. This is nothing like the best course in Hampshire but it is a pleasure to play and well worth a visit.

My home club, Southampton Rose Bowl, County Golf Club, was closed for the day due to Neil Diamond Concert, so we took advantage of a two rounds for the price of one offer at Wickham Park. Friendly welcome, well stocked pro-shop, comfy bar/food area with outside seating, good locker room etc, range and separate putting and chipping areas for warming up. The course? I like it, it's enjoyable, very open, not challenging even to a 27 handicap like me, but stay out of the rough or take plenty of balls. On the 10th tee, get out of there as soon as you can as you are next to the range, or wear a crash helmet! The 11th can catch you out with a nasty bunker right in front of the green, if you are not sure of reaching the green with your 2nd, then play it to the left. For the twitchers amongst you, this may be one of the few places to see and hear Skylarks, beautiful.

Wide open fairways. Good for beginers and kids.
Drainage problems, poor greens, poorly maintained.
Good driving range, but auto ball feeders often broken.
Faily cheap - You get what you pay for.

great, its not megga challenging, but i love playing there, it has some great holes and the usual mix of good to easy holes, dont know why i like it so much, but its a good allround playable course that i feel sure anyone who decides to play there will agree, and have a good game.
