Mr

Shocking. Don’t bother. Tees aren’t cut and greens were simply the worst I’ve ‘played’ this year. Scarified and sanded, not swept. Complained at the pro shop for someone simply to say sorry. Definitely avoid.

5 and a half hour round

Arrived on Saturday morning for breakfast and 18 holes as a 3ball. Everything went well untill we started our round. waiting on each tee for 5 to 10 mins. When we got to the 13th there were 7:four balls playing the 2 holes in front. There were obviously too many groups on the course. It was a shame because the course is a real test. pity money comes before player satisfaction!

I was not involved directly I the booking for our society but we were informed on the previous evening that there were two temporary greens. When we arrived to play there were 4 holes completely closed and a further 4 temporary greens. We played the course stomping around the other holes wading through mud. The course should clearly have not been open. Having paid nearly £30 to play (inc breakfast), we all felt somewhat cheated. As a result of complaints made we were issued with 2 for 1 vouchers to be used next time but in fairness these are of little use or value.

Recently played this course as part of a society, hopefully won't be selected again going forward. Fairways were in poor condition, the course marshall was extremely fussy and quite frankly, a nuisance. I would also suggest that the tees weren't clearly signposted between holes. I didn't find the staff were particularly friendly. I would not recommend this course.

It rained heavy! Nice course. Long walk between the green and tees
I would play again but would get a buggy and hopefully get some sun

Somewhat hilly with long distances between green and next tee on some holes. Buggy use recommended for the less able bodied but a requirement to stick to paths during wet conditions a problem. Not normally possible to finish a four-ball in under 5 hours even with buggiest

On arrival the staff were attentive and very helpful. The service was excellent throughout and I couldn't fault it. As for the course I have to say I was very disappointed. I have played at Wharton many times and because of this I have attempted to get my society day there for the last few years. The course condition for me was well below its usual standard which was a shame really as the course layout is pretty nice. To note on all other occasions I have played the course gas been excellent. Having said all the above everyone had a fantastic day.

True greens with steady pace. A little wet but not surprising considering the rain over last 2 weeks

Decent course, quite challenging. Wet due to severe weather conditions and some of the holes were a little soggy.
