The course was looking better than I had seen it for sometime, however the bunkers had next to no sand making bunker shots very difficultto control.

played in wet weather. All of winter tees but to be expected.
All of the greens were in play and in pretty good condition considering the weather.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with Western Park, considering its a municipal course. Its a very mature course so its a lot less open than other courses which is nice. Also its relatively well kept, although some of the greens and fairways could be a bit better. Nice pro shop and clubhouse facilities. Downsides are it gets extremely busy, and you always feel pressured to take your shots quickly, not too mention that some players there think they're at some exclusive country club and can be rude. Also there are a few silly things missing (see review above). Besides that its a good challenge, a lovely course to look at and above all else good value.

Paying £14 pounds for a round on a council course I was expecting the worst, however this was a lovely little course that is well set out and great value for money. Silly things like no rakes and poor yardage markers let it down, but their nis challenge in most of the holes and the welcome in the clubhouse is spot on

This is an old municipal golf course in Leicester some nice interesting holes on this course good value for money.

A nice course with some challenging holes the green are a good size and well kept as are the bunkers with many being difficult to get out of the tees could do with a little more attention and the rough was hard to play out of the grass seemed to carve up and large chunks came off on club face well worth £14.50 and easy to get to about 3 minutes from M1 junc 21a

Nice layout to course, just needs better management/maintenance. Very good value as it's a Council run course and holes 2 to 5 are a decent test.

Another good local muni thats linked with humberstone heights. first hole is an opening par three thats quite tough, if you are lucky enough to score well here the next huge par 4 will bring you back to earth. Both par fives on the back nine holes are really great up and down hills. Most of the fairways are wide so if your a grip it and rip it player you will like this course. The pro shop are very welcoming and helpful. Only downside is there is no practice putting green. The winter tees are in play which is fine but the area around them has got very muddy. Still for a muni this is a cracking course and is certainly one of my local favourites.

This course is a very challenging one with some very long holes the clubhouse is very nice and the food excellent and very reasonably priced the staff are very friendly and helpfull
