On the hurricane course 4 or 5 holes are being restructured at the moment. Expected to be finished in February 2012.

work being carried out at present.but the greens are good,fairways are challenging.
only thing is if you havnt booked a society,and just turn up,they do not have tee times.you go when you are ready.

I played the Spitfire and unfortunately all the greens had just been treated so I could not get a true reflection of the greens, but the golf course was in fine condition generally.
The course is testing without being overly difficult and most holes on the course are fairly forgiving. That is to say apart from hole 14, which has the green sitting on a high plateau above the fairway and only a very accurate iron shot will do to save par on this hole.

Although fairly open, with a choice of two courses you can select a course to match your mood, although, do check when the societies are teeing off as a 6 hour round is not unheard of when they are in front.

Second time I have played Hurricane Saturday just gone, course not too bad, but you can have problems when very busy as some holes you walk off to next T and you are walking towards the oncoming players, can be dangerous, some nice holes and fairly open, nice 600 yd par 5, large clubhouse good food and drink and pro shop very good and cheap.

2 Good courses quite similar but well worth playing. Bit more care needed and some of the back nine where you have to cross the road (Hurricane?) could do with some work.

Loved the Hurricane, first visit but will be going back, even if its to find all the balls I lost. Only moan was number of unrepaired pitch marks on the greens. Facilities are excellent, and the course is a pleasure to play. Plan to hold a corporate day here in 2009

We played both for £40 in a day (buggies etc and reccomneded).

I love West Malling and if I could afford it, I'd buy the 7-day membership.
There are two courses to choose from, both as good as each other. Water is a feature on both courses, more so on the Spitfire course. Both courses are parkland.
The couse has a nice clubhouse with one of the best value breakfasts in the area.
There is no requirement to book a tee time, but there is a 'members only' policy in the mornings at weekends.
