Played a few rounds here. Fairly quiet. No waiting. Good scenery. Holes are a mixture of tree lined, water hazards and a few long par 4s. Bunkers could do with a little attention. Quite challenging. Need to be a fairly straight hitter to stay out of trouble.

Wergs is a beautiful and well-maintained course. The conifer-lined fairways are a real spectacle. It is fairly straight, yet quite long, and deceptively difficult. I have played this course three times now, and each time we have had the place to ourselves (virtually). This makes it even more enjoyable.

I have played the Wergs a few times now and find it very enjoyable. The course is set out well but is fairly straight (no challenging doglegs) but is a very picturesque course. The greens are sometimes in poor condition in places but get better towards the middle of summer.
Good for the beginner and old hacker alike.

Quite basic facilities.
The course itself is very nice but let down by the poor tee areas and the lack of attention to the bunkers which are lacking fresh sand and very gritty.

I've played a few times here and have enjoyed the round everytime. It is a bit featureless as a previous comment said, but it isn't dull at all. There are a few really nice holes that test your accuracy and a couple of really long holes to give you a chance to lash the driver good and hard. The greens have almost always been good and well looked after. The really big bonus is that this course is almost always pretty quiet !! One thing that I gurantee will drive you nuts if your a bit wayward is that all of the trees pretty much are conifers. If your ball goes in them it could be anywhere !!

I played this on a Thursday morning. Arrived at 8am to find the club deserted apart from the old guy running the club shop.
The couse is a little up and down and rather featureless. Greens are ok, not great and not particularly well defined. Course is generally in good condition. Bunkers had small stones in them - not very pure sand. Fortunately I didn't have to play out of one. If you had some new clubs they would have been well scratched!!
The course is great for begginers but the more serious golfer might be a bit dissapointed. At £15 though very reasonable.
Wouldn't play again out of choice.

The Wergs is a very friendly club, with good greens, and a decent course.

have played this course a few times this year and has always been in very good condition. greens are usually excellent. after a couple of straightforward openers holes get more difficult with streams and ditches across or along a a lot of the fairways. overall a good mix of long and short par 4s long fives and 3s. clubhouse a bit ropey but good value at £17.
