The Wareham Golf Course has two totally different nines in that you may as well be playing two different Golf Courses. The first couple of holes are all played in an around the clubhouse, which is very disconcerting as there is a lot of activity. The front protects itself with loads of heather and gorse and is a typical heathland Course forcing the golfer to hit straight. On the front nine there is the only par 5 on the course which off the back tees is huge into the the prevailing wind. The second nine is a lot more challenging and exciting but very exposed to the prevailing wind. The 12 th hole is definately the signature hole on the course and deserves its stroke of 1. The par 3's are very challenging and the vary between 140 to 170 yards so they test the long and the short irons. In general the course let itself down with really bad greens which were very inconsistent and carried loads of nap due to lack of cutting. The bunkers were stone filled and the golfers added to this by not raking them so anything in the bunker was in trouble. The general manicuring of the course could be summed up as untidy and although there was no litter around the course looked tatty and unkept.

Very wet after the recent poor weather. Greens are ok but the bunkers are shocking. little sand and full of stones

Course had apparently suffered during the hot summer and due to this the course was in recovery. Greens were slow and the fairways had been over seeded so the ball wasn't running. With some big hills on the course length and accuracy were very much the order of the day. Very welcome drink in the clubhouse afterwards

One more week will make all the difference

After all the rain we've had it was good to play Wareham, although the grass was long and the greens slow, once the sun comes out and the grass can be cut the course will be in great condition, always a pleasure.

£20.00 each after 2.30 pm was a good deal. Parts of the course are very dry and schorched at the moment due to the lack of rain, this meant in some places it was hard to get the club under the ball. That apart the course played well and was good value for money.

Course doesn't seem to be in the best condition. I know it's been raining but the greens were horrible.

An interesting course with plenty of blind shots later in the round. The early holes are not the best but from the 7th onwards it becomes undulating and challenging. Definitely needs to be played again with the knowledge gained from this round so I know where to aim shots next time - bit of a lottery first time out!
