strategic golf, wide fairways
Walton Heath is a well thought out golf course. Even though the tee shots are quite generous, the bunkering in such that you need to be careful not to find them. The tee boxes and fairways had suffered due to the lack of rain. The greens were quite receptive and putted fast and true. Par 3's were quite a challenge due to their length off the men's tournament tees. I found the topography a bit monotonous, being basically a flat layout.Reviewer Rating

Wonderful heathland course suffering from drought
This is a wonderful golfing venue. Both courses are excellent, the Old shading the New . Sadly droughts had ravaged many fairways leaving conditions requiring pick and place which was not a local rule on our day - a lot of work to be done before the IAG Open comes! Because of COVID restrictions the clubhouse provision was necessarily very limited(Round played: Aug 2020 - Score: 96 Handicap: 12)

Tough track
With the fairways being so dry this makes it very difficult to control your tee shots - there is a possibility of the ball bouncing anywhere Great test of golf though!(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 83 Handicap: 6.4)

Classic heathland, stunning challenge
It is with good reaason that Walton Heath is so highly regarded. The New course is a bit more playable than the Old, more foregiving off the tee and with fewer fairway bunkers. But it is still a real challenge and you must play from the fairway as the heather is penal. Beautiful turf, large subtle-breaking greens. A real pleasure to play.Reviewer Rating

Walton Heath New Course
Played on a very cold frosty day. The course stood up very well but the heather is a real problem. Not very long but very difficult to find a ball. Needs reducing. The course is flattish, quite interesting and very good greens. Club house excellent and friendly staff and good parking.Reviewer Rating

Greens and tees excellent
A real sense of tradition being able to play as a society. The whole course and club grounds excellently presented. Greens very fast which takes some getting used to. The carvery afterwards great quality.Reviewer Rating

Classic heathland - real championship test
The Old at Walton Heath is everything you expect from a classic English heathland course that has hosted the top champtionship events in years past. It is wonderfully conditioned with lovely fairways and true-running greens. But it has real teeth, especially in the 2 club wind that followed us round. Narrow fairways flanked by tough heather and long, whispy rough maked straight driving essential. It is hard on the eye - being so flat and with little definition it is hard to figure out how far the landing areas are off the tee. You probably need to play a few times to understand the course well. Hopefully I will get a chance to go back.Reviewer Rating

Give it a few weeks
The course has just been hollow tyned and top dressed and there is a lot of pipe works going on at the moment so I'd give it a few weeks if you want it in better condition. It was still a lot of fun to play around, despite the 4 seasons in one day and howling wind!Reviewer Rating
