Tylney Park Golf Club

Tylney Park Golf ClubSet in 200 acres of parkland and listed by English Heritage as a protected park and garden. The Rotherwick Course at Tylney Park is an example of the very best inland golf available in Britain. In 2003, a leading firm of golf architects was asked to re-design the 1974 golf course in such a way that would do justice to a site which has long been felt could unlock more potential as one of the finest parkland settings in the south of England. The aim was to create a course of sufficient length and variety to challenge players of all abilities while preserving the original features of the landscape and indeed capitalise on the existing natural beauty.

Golf course review of Tylney Park Golf Club

Having not played Tylney since they redesigned the course I was interested in seeing the changes that they'd made to it. I have to say that overall I kinda feel like it has lost a lot of its original character, leaving it now with very few memorable holes. It is still a decent test of your game, but most of the holes on the clubhouse side of the car park seemed a little "samey".

Condition-wise, the fairways didn't appear to be handling the winter weather very well, although the greens were very good.

Golf course review of Tylney Park Golf Club

Challenging Park Land Course out in the Hampshire Countryside. Some very trickly multi-level greens well worth a visit. Try to get round without hitting an old established tree.

Golf course review of Tylney Park Golf Club

With a Driving Range to warm up on, a 3 teared green to hit clubs from 7iron to Wedge on and a Putting Green, no worries with warming up and fine tuning your game. A well stocked Pro Shop and some very good advise and service, you cant go wrong. The Course will offer all Handicap Golfers a challenge, with undulating Greens, Tree's and Rough to trouble anyone, with a variety of holes, from 1-18, all offering their own challenge this course will not bore you, it could upset your golf though. The Bar is very well priced, Burger and Chips £5, no complaints.

Golf course review of Tylney Park Golf Club

Very nice course however seemed very long. You need to be on top of your game here as the fairways are tight and the greens are well guarded. Each green has 3 different pin positions which a bit strange but, i guess offers consistantcy for the members. Excellent facilities with a good driving range and even a practise hole. Clubhouse was not very good at all and it was the only downfall to such a well kept course. Would recommend for low handicap golfers looking for a good round somewhere different then usuall.
