As a first time visitor I was a bit concerned about what the course would be like given the latest review. However, it turned out to be a really nice course. Very picturesque and generally fairly forgiving for the average player like me. It is hilly, but that gives it its own character. Some of the fairways do slope to one side but most are wide. There were only two tees where we had to use tee mats. The only real downside is the quality of the greens. They are mostly a patchwork of different kinds of grasses but they looked rougher than than they were. Most putts went where they were hit.

Massive tee's but for some reason you have to play from very poor condition mats! greens are either rock hard or soft as a sponge. Very hilly with a lot of blind shots & if it's dry your ball will never be where you think it is as nearly all fairways slope from one side to the other. Pro shop is ok but the rest of the club house is a bit dated. The food was terrible & the atmosphere was very clicky with a few pretentious members acting as if the club was a lot more prestigious than it is. At the end of the day, it's just average & not very long.

A tight course that can be testing at times (especially if you have a slice of any kind) but it gives you a sense of fulfilment at the end of your round. The greens are excellent and the course is well kept. The facilities are decent with a driving box, a practice area, including an area you can sharpen up on your putting. The club house which overlooks the course, is well presented and has just had its balcony revamped. The pro shop caters for all your golfing needs and both professionals are extremely helpful and polite. Anyone visiting Cornwall and the Truro area should certainly think about giving the course a go.
