What the club says: At 6,216 yards this beautiful par 70 parkland course offers a challenging game of golf to all levels, and is probably one of the best examples of pay and play golf in the London area.

Geoff

Played here today and came off after the fourth hole. Like other reviews, ankle high grass, greens in a shocking state and pathways worn. Unbelievable. There has been no maintenance at all over the winter and it is as if all the ground staff have been on holiday. I cannot understand how this course is open. It’s completely unplayable. I received a credit including buggy hire and as I am local, I will go back but honestly, can’t see how the course is going to be ready this season.

Worst "course" i've ever seen

This was without doubt the worst kept course I've ever seen or played. Ankle high grass in the fair way. Tired unkept greens. It looked like the groundsmen had the previous month off, and yet the staff still charged us £27 without any forewarning when booking online. It was only when the chap in the American Golf store, stated how he couldn't believe it was open. I want my money back. But the staff have only offered to rebook us in for another time. This is of course no use to me, as I'll never be going back!

Dereliction Supreme

Like losing every ball you hit, even when drilled down the middle of the fairway? Then look no further. Used to be good, but it's being run into the ground probably to be sold off for housing. £27 to slosh around in a mud pit? Yeah, absolutely had our pants pulled down on this one.

Superb value & the fairways & greens maybe not the highest quality but well worth trying a round if not played here before as the holes are nicely variable & much if the course is pleasing on the eye. A couple of missing flags & some unforgiving rough just off the fairway was detrimental to overall experience & it's a tough start with an accurate shot for a par 3 needed.

Lacking a bit of TLC

Trent Park has a good layout and has been in good condition in the past. This week it was better than the last time I played there - not as bad as some recent reviews. However, the greens need some work and the rough could do with cutting back. The bunkers were terrible - not having rakes is no excuse for players not to smooth their foot prints. However, at ?12 on a Monday for seniors, it's a good challenge.

Worst ever

I played this course to encourage my son in laws golf - it has done th opposite ! It is in a terrible state . Every aspect of an enjoyable round of golf has gone literally like any ball that lands in the 1st cut - long grass with dead cuttings left to rot . Greens were awful . I felt like a beginner as my scoring was terrible . Will never return even at £12 .

It’s getting there

Since finding the course extraordinarily muddy in winter, I try to play in summer here only. Unfortunately while the fairways are clear, the adjacent rough is thick with cuttings & much time was spent searching. Luckily the course was quiet. The greens too are better in high summer so a return in July is likely as it offers amazing value when you time your visits.

This course is not fit for play right now. The greens were longer than most fairways (played on a Saturday afternoon). Fairways longer than most roughs, and if you missed the fairway you had no chance of finding a ball. Multiple balls which hit fairway were lost. It attracts beginner golfers which is fine, but pace of play was not existent, sharing of clubs and buggies which slowed everything down. Stopped playing after 4 hours at the 12th hole. Also worth noting it is not recognised by MyEnglandGolf so you can't use a score towards your handicap which sums up the state of it.

No upkeep.

A good course spoilt by lack of upkeep, fairways like rough, rough like St Andrews and tees with grass two inches long. How can you loose a ball in the middle of the fairway? Well we both did on different holes. It used to be a pleasure to play there but it will be a long time before I return.

Very poor condition

The greens were in poor condition, the fairways were like rough, the rough was 6 inches to a foot deep. How can you loose balls in the middle of the fairway? The course is in the worst state I have ever seen it. When we told the gue in the booking office all he said was "oh a lot of people have said that". We won't be going back any time soon.

Short but interesting but fairways terrible

Short but interesting course designed across a brook that runs through the holes. The greens was short and fast for time of year, however the fairways were awful and like playing in the rough all the time, needs cutting and attention. Also around most of the greens was waterlogged and a lot of plugging occurred. Weirdly a 3 hour felt slow as waiting on a slow two ball for two-thirds of the way.

Winter conditions of this course is not the best but it is a public course and very reasonable prices. Greens are pretty good it's down fall is the T Boxes none and flat level the ball is likely above or below your feet or your foots in a hole

Good local course, accessible by Tube. Greens are ok in winter. Could do with a chipping area to practice.
