Only complain is the marks for 150yards to green are on the floor on fairways which are not much help unless your near them, marks should be posts

Im a big fan of tilgate but not in the winter and not after a bout of heavy rain. Very boggy in places, all winter mats and a few plugged balls. Greens were OK. Clubhouse is a portacabin, new one planned after fire. In the spring, Summer its a different story. Hardest hole def the 6th.

tight fairways you must drive straight, there are trees lining both side the whole way round, but it is a forest coarse, other than this it is a lovely coarse

Played on Sunday - course generally in good condition - tee areas in need of attention - bunkers need some work. Good value for money

played today .greens good , bunkers not so good. cracking course and straight hitting required . not a big hitters course . position is more important.
shame club house was burnt down a couple of months ago .arson no one caught for it. temp builings set up and food and beer available . great value for money .
worth a visit.

Lovely course lots of trees by name, need to stay on the fairways or else it could cost you lots of balls, some pin positions out of site from the tee, can be a bit daunting first time, but great fun if your game is going well. members and pay and play.

A great course. Fully tree lined on every hole so even with a full course it will seem quiet. Greens very good, tees a bit ropey but playable, fairways good.

Played front 9 holes after work last night. First two holes both dog legs so unless you can draw or fade the ball you're better off with a med iron off the tee. Also found myself in a big ditch after using the driver on the 8th (blind shot down the hill). I'll notch this up to a learning experience. Much tighter fairways than I am used to so quite a challenge but fantastic setting. The course was in poor condition in my opinion as it has been so dry which resulted in hard ground and some cracking on/around the greens. Also, astroturf path on approach to 2nd green which is poor design and none of the bunkers had been raked. I would be disappointed if I had paid standard day rate but as a twilight round it represents good value for money. The light went after 9 holes so I can't comment on the back 9 but I understand they are perhaps better than the front holes.

Excellent course in superb condition. The 18 is carved out of the forest and is a course that I will be going back to again and again.

My home course! As always the course is set up really well by the Head Greenkeeper and his team. The pro-shop carries quite a large stock of big name clothing and equipment and they usually have some good deals on offer. The driving range is poor (when it's open) and the bar area lacks the atmosphere you would normally expect at a public golf course. But I still love it.

very good when not wet. Very tight, not too long. Nice target par 3's. Good greens. not the best tees. 10th tee is always terrible.

The setting that Tilgate enjoys along with a superbly designed course layout should mean that this is one of Sussexs' premier courses. Unfortuneatly the current leasholders have allowed too many pairs of jeans and trainers on the course and not invested enough on course maintenance. They have also decimated some parts of the forest.

Played tilgate 12/08/09.
I have played it for 13 years and have never seen the fairways and greens especially looking so good if a tad slow. This was following about 12 hrs of rain. Tees were average. You must keep your ball straight or youre in the woods. Not the longest 6000yds off yellows. We went out at 6AM ( Honest ) and was not too busy. But it can get busy at weekends. Clubhouse OK. Pro shop vgood.

This is a tough course, the narrow fairways linned with thick tree line make for a long afternoon.

i played yestaday and it was also a £10 if you book online!, quite slow day but we where in no rush, the only thing is that they could be tight with the dress code!, when someone plays in tracksuit bottoms, football top and trainers, it could let down the course, but apart from that, good breakfast, good golf course and a nice cold pint afterwards!
