Course is excellent. Tests your putting to the limit.
Maybe the dress code is somewhat strange.
White socks must be worn by men if wearing shorts (must be above the knee)
Ladies suit yourself.

Superb course, from the challenging par three first to some monster par 4's, in excess of 460 yards. This forest course has no water, but gorse, trees and heather make up for this. Expect a warm welcome in the pro shop and clubhouse, which serves excellent and very cheap food. The course is well drained and therefore excellent in the winter. Green fees are not cheap, but it is a course that is well worth visiting.

A course to suit all standards, although the higher handicappers might want to make sure they have plenty of balls before they tee off!
Very freindly and helpful pro shop, made to feel very welcome in the clubhouse

It's Centenary Year at Thetford. Things have changed!
Just to let you all know that the management of Thetford Golf Club has changed since the last reviewer put his comments down. We now have very competitive rates and a wide range of tee times which are bookable directly from our new club website http://www.thetfordgolfclub.co.uk
The course is a true heathland course and as such dries out in the summer to leave dry sometimes patchy fairways. Nothing we can do about the weather but lots of work is being done on the course this year to improve it.

A good test for any golfer.Accuracy off the tee is a must and length helps as well as some of the par 4s are long.Course in good condition with greens first class and today when the sun was hitting the fairways,it really was a picture.

Excellent facilities with 2 putting greens, a chipping green. 2 warm up nets which for me is the only downside as I do like a hit a few in a range where possible bu you can't have it all.
Strange start with a Par 3, quite long too. But it sets the tone for what will be a long round, especially off the whites.
The course itself is excellent, a really good test for any standard of Golfer. The greens are probably the best I have played on and it's really nice to find proper sand in the bunkers, although I only found one.
The fairways are wide in places, however the tight lined trees on a few holes makes the tee shot tougher. If you do go off the fairways you can expect a difficult time as there is a lot of rough and gorse.
What I liked most about this course was no 2 holes seem the same, it keeps you on your toes from start to finish. If it lacks anything then it's some water as it has none, but again you can't have everything.
If you like wildlife then you'll love this course, animals everywhere.

Our first attempt to play twilight here failed due to a ladies competition being played despite the fact I had been assured we would get on. On our second attempt we had to pay £5 more than the price advertised on their website because "the prices went up a few weeks ago"(shrug of the shoulders, no apology). It was only when we started playing it became apparent that every fairway had been scored as part of routine maintenance. So we paid over the odds to play a course in horrible condition. The course is in a great location and has a nice layout but in competitive times this club needs better management
