Test Valley Golf Club was founded in 1992 the downland 18 hole course, meanders through undulating and picturesque Hampshire countryside.
The Par 72 course measures 6714 yards from the championship tees and 6053 yards from the tees of the day. The Ladies course measures 5558 yards and we also have a blue course ideal for juniors, beginners and seniors measuring 5132. These teeing options make the course a challenging but fair test of golf for all abilities.
When first opened the course was regarded as an inland links due to its fine tight turf on the Rye grass fairways. As Test Valley has matured it now plays like a downland course and has been rewarded with an excellent reputation for its all year round play whatever the weather conditions due to the exceptional drainage. The course possesses some prominent bunkers and water features with a fantastic mix of long and short holes ensuring that no two holes are the same. First time round here but I'll definitely be back, not overly long but enough to test most golfers particularly with the strong breeze. Greens slow but true,no trouble short short of the greens so keeping it straight will pay dividends and the fact I drove the ball well but didn't hit too many greens in reg didn't make a huge difference. The staff in the pro shop were very helpful and did a deal on the buggies & the sausages in my buttie were excellent.

played this course today after a mix up in pro shop they had us booked in for previous day they got us out within 15 mins we paid £20 for 18 holes and the course was immaculate the bunkers had nice soft sand and plenty of it putting alot of clubs to shame when it comes to the amount of sand they use. there were a tight fairways and some holes playing a lot longer into the wind the back 9 holes i found easier than the front and took a while to get used to the green speed clubhouse was good and good food at reasonable prices to will def return here for another game

Hot day but with the club house between hole 9 and 10 a great water stop. The course is deceptive in that it looks quite open but with fairly narrow cut fair ways so using the right club and keeping straight to land on the fairway is a must.

Provides an enjoyable game of golf for mid to high handicappers.

Only played the course once so far, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Mixture of wide open straight fairways to tight lies with well guarded greens. Challenging yet rewarding to the sensible shots.

Plays a bit like a links course drains very well in the wet trouble lurks when you are off the fairway balls get eaten and can be very hard to find in 5 mins

This is a "farmer's field" but a a pretty decent one at that. A big plus point is the chalk drainage which meant that today, after a lot of recent rain, the fairways were dry and in very good order - greens also played well. A good range of holes with four 5s and four 3s. Quite wide open generally but trouble does lurk in the form of fairway bunkers and small copses if you stray (as I found to my cost!). A good welcome in the clubhouse followed by excellent Roast Lamb and superb Apple Pie rounded off a fine day.
