Temple Newsam Golf Club
Temple Newsam Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS15 0LN United Kingdom
Temple Newsam boasts 2 demanding 18 hole courses set in undulating parkland. The fairways are generous and often inviting but beware the natural hazards, including trees on most holes and streams that come into play on 8 of the 36 holes.
The Lord Irwin is marginally the longer of the 2 courses and arguably, the more difficult.
The Lady Dorothy course is slightly shorter but presents demanding par 4 holes to the start and finish of the round. The par 3's are less demanding than those on the Lord Irwin but it's two par 5's are longer. Book a Tee Time

Played at TNGC for the last 30 yrs and Been a member here for 10 years, both courses are in an appalling condition,i have never seen them as bad as they are now,the green keepers ( and i use that term very loosely indeed)haven't got a clue of how to manage & manicure a golf course, its a shame they have been let get so bad, there not golf courses anymore but merely fields that have been cut,and badly at that.

2 courses in one, both challenging.
Because it is an open municipal course it is well used by both golfers and the general public, this often results in warn areas and greens which need attention.
The green staff do a great job in demanding circumstances.
The course is ideal for the everyday high handicapper who wants a real challenge. Shop excellent.

two long courses that i find very challanging, the course is not always in great condition due to the local toe- rags. when you finish your round you will feel like you have just done a marathon! i would not recomend this course to beginners, if your not on your game it can be soul destroying. good value for money though.

Grass on fairways a bit to long. Some of the greens were in poor condition i.e grass completely missing.

Two 6000+ courses running side by side on the Temple Newsam estate in Leeds. A municipal course that will stretch every golfer from scratch players to 28 handicappers, be aware, you will be tired as the course undulates and the out of shape golfer should consider a buggy. Greens do unfortunately suffer minor damage from the local ASBO's and there needs to be more sand in the bunkers. Two great golf courses though at very reasonable value.

Played the Lord Irwin today in 28 degrees, very long with some magnificent holes, the 16th and 17th are absolute crackers, but a lot of big hills both up and down!! Do yourself a favour and book a buggy for the day. At £15 it was great value, and worth its weight in gold by the end of the round!!

A good course. A good challenge for all ablities. Although it has to be said the bunkers are very poor, heavy sand and alot of stones. Pro shop well stocked and very friendly.
