What the club says: Why not make your golfing experience even better by choosing a course
that's as grand and soaring as you feel when you play? The
Staffordshire Golf Club's wooded parkland course offers some of the
most picturesque holes in the UK, with tree-lined fairways, fast
undulating greens and a huge dog leg amongst 60-foot tall firs.
Lose yourself in our avenues of pines, firs and rhododendrons. You'll
think for a moment that you're in the middle of Scotland! Our course
features a driving range and practice area where you can hit a few
balls around before committing to 18 holes, and our restaurant and bar
area is ready to serve you when you're finished. Come visit us today
and see why we are home to one of the most successful golf teams in
the west midlands.
We have recently changed the name of the club from Swindon Golf Club
to The Staffordshire Golf Club. Still the same great course - just a new name !
(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 106 Handicap: 24.2)
Played this course recently and must say that the course was in poor condition, the tee boxes and fairways were cut to a length that was more a custom to being the first cut of rough.
The greens were the worst I've played on this year and ever, very slow, bumpy and showing signs of disease, with a distinct lake of root growth.
There are many areas around the course that should be GIR, but no signs of work being undertaken.
On the plus side the membership were very welcoming and friendly.
Sorry, but I won't be playing this course again.
Course is lovely and In okay condition. Very picturesque.
The pro staff are rude and arrogant which gave me a bad impression so deffinetly won't be a memeber. Shame as he course was lovely.
(Round played: Jul 2017 - Score: 85 Handicap: 13.9)
Course was lovely and greens were great. A proper test with tight fairways that are tree lined. Great day of golf .
(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 107 Handicap: 22.7)
Front nine: you hardly need a driver. short and tight layout. Precision and placement is the key to getting round. off-camber slopes with rock hard fairways no real bail out areas
Back nine: open's up slightly but again plenty of mature trees and brambles / gorse to catch you out. shot shaping a must on some holes and plenty of running the ball in.
Greens in good condition and putted well but not quick.
Driving range and short game area to left of the first tee,
clubhouse is nice along with changing rooms, friendly staff also.
Plenty of parking available, only downside for me the wrong side of Dudley, traffic hotspots even on a Sunday!!!!

(Round played: Apr 2017 - Score: 116 Handicap: 28)
The course was in excellent condition considering the weather over the last few days. Fairway dry , allowing for considerable run on drives and long iron shots. greens true and fast. overall excellent value with the challenging holes .
