Styal Golf Club
Station Road, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 4JN United Kingdom
The club has developed rapidly since opening in 1994 and a variety of excellent facilities are available. They include an 18 golf course, 9 hole Academy Par 3 course, 24 bay floodlit driving range with 8 outdoor bays, golf tuition academy and a clubhouse with a superb restaurant.
The 18 hole golf course
The eighteen hole golf course opened in 1994. It was carefully designed with U.S.G.A specification greens, measuring 6238 yards off the competition tees and stretching over 160 acres of Cheshire’s finest countryside. The golf course is now well established and has already been chosen to host several Professional golf tournament’s, its layout consists of many challenging and enjoyable holes with both the ninth and eighteenth greens within close proximity to the clubhouse.
The 9 hole Academy course
A perfect addition to compliment the eighteen hole golf course. Its careful design includes U.S.G.A specification greens and the latest grass feel technology teeing areas. The two combined give you the best putting surfaces and near perfect teeing conditions all year round. The course measures 1203 yards off the competition tees. The Academy course is an ideal venue for “a quick nine”, yes, within a lunch break, on the way back from work, or just before you venture to the shops you will be able to play nine holes in little over one hour. We believe, at present the Academy is one of the finest par three courses in the country, an ideal learning ground for the beginner and yet a challenging test for the established player who wishes to sharpen his/her game. Not a friendly reception for ourselves, also over priced i thought. Especially with 3 holes closed. Winter tees where almost floating atop of the mud. There has been some heavy rain, but i think the placement of the tees should be reviewed, not placed in small valleys. A good challenge but maybe avoid until the course has dried up quite a lot. Good sausage

Great place to get started for me. Friendly pro, friendly shop staff. Range is never full. Instruction has improved my game no end. Course is good. Back 9 nicer than the front. Front feels a bit field like - Back is more parkland. No stuff institutionalised attitude showing through so far. Par 3 Academy course is great for tuning the short game.

Front 9 is much longer and challenging than back 9. Was in nice condition and greens evens stood upto a 30 min rainstorm whilst playing, drying out very quickly. Long grass and out of bounds comes into play if you are not hitting it straight. Course requires you to think on each tee adn not just pull out the driver.

Good all round course, with something for everyone.
A lot more challenging, with new hazards, when comparing it to when it first opened.
Freindly and relaxed atmosphere.
