We really had a great day and finished it off with a tasty hot meal in front of a fire in the Clubhouse.

Expensive round
In good condition as you would expect but I believe too expensive at ?70 with a member. The course has millions of deep sandy bunkers as its main defence and they work very well as you are unlikely to be able to advance the ball very far as very high lips on virtually every bunkerReviewer Rating

Beautiful and challenging
A beautiful parkland course, where each hole has been sculptured out of land making good use if the undulating fairways and water on the course.Lots and lots of bunkers - if you can pick your way around missing them, you've done well! Not overly challenging if you can hit straight off the tee, but trouble can be found left and right of every fairway.

Beautiful day and a lovely course..only downside were the greens. Patchy and very bumpy throughout, which slightly let down an otherwise very good test of the game.
As others have mentioned, the 7th hole is a real treat. Possibly one of the best par 3's I've ever played. We played from the back tees...the green has a serious slope towards water at the front and the back of the green holds a long bunker ready to catch any over hit tee shot. A par here feels like a birdie.
Overall, a great setup, shame about the greens.

The designer of this course, Mr Colt, knew what he was doing. Bunkers are placed around the course on nearly every hole to catch the hit it as far as I can golfer. You really have to think your way around here if you are going to score well.

Beautiful course in a beautiful setting
I've been lucky enough to play this course a few times and it never fails to impress. Course in fantastic condition, pleasant on the eye, rewards those looking for a challenge and offers something for every level of golf ability. As you would expect the tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were in great condition and some of the pin positions when we played were tough with very few level putts. The layout is great and as mentioned provides a challenge for all and the design provides for an enjoyable round offering variety throughout with many standout feature holes including a few of the par 3s with history connected to Augusta.
I believe the course is shortly due to close for reimbursement and I can't wait for it to reopen and play again and hope this isn't too long before it does.

Beautiful course - Millionaires' golf
I think I have found my favourite hole - 15th on the Alison part of the course. Incredible framing of the hole with the lake and church behind. Then you turn round after your shot to see the famous mansion club house. Like no place on earth.Enjoy parking up by the Ferraris and Porches!!
Enjoy a post match drink overlooking the 15th
Brilliant practice range

Sensational
From the moment you drive up and unload your golf gear to the bag drop it is a first class experience. The club house/Mansion is just amazing, walking up the steps and into the Mansion for coffee before hand - it is sumptuous.Practice area is really good with free range balls.
We played the Lane Jackson and Colt combination. Some sensational holes. On Lane the first 3 are breathtaking view along side the lake and the bridge. Then there are some fairly ordinary holes in the middle before a rousing finish up the 9th back to the club house.
On the Colt after a shorturned par 5>4 opener where the bunkers are a bit out of place the 2nd hole has a lovely green with great views (just look at the house on the right!). The par 3 3rd is beautifully framed by bunkers. I've not seen a par 3 like it. Obviously the par 3 seventh is stunning (but not much like Augusta as they say!) it is lovely on its own - as is the stunning tee shot on 8th which is just class.
We played on a voucher FOC but this time of year £85 is well worth it.Not sure you can justify the £175 standard fee though in the summer weekdays. But a really great day. I'm still buzzing now!
