Stockley (Park) Pines Golf Club

Stockley Park, Uxbridge, Greater London, UB11 1AQ United Kingdom

Stockley (Park) Pines Golf ClubSet in 240 acres of rolling countryside, the par 72, 6,625 yard tree lined course was opened in 1993. Since then it has hosted European Senior and Challenge tour events and most recently a number of local professional and amateur tournaments. The golf course was built with over 30 miles of drainage under the ground which allows excellent playing conditions all year round. This means we never have to use winter tees or temporary greens and trolleys can be used 12 months a year. All of which means Stockley Pines is one of London's finest public golf facilities.

After reading some really shocking reviews i was pleasantly surprised. Ok the 10th needs some time to mature but can be taken advantage of to get the score down a bit.

Tees were in good nick and I could only fault 2 greens on the whole course. Excellent value for money when playing twilight. As im local i think i will be playing here more often. Beats other local courses hands down. Clubhouse isn't the greatest but friendly staff made up for it.

Definitely worth the £15 i payed.

Jag,

It's pleasing to see that you are fighting to save this club and are prepared to put it into writing. However I do not understand the situation at the club. Who decided to build the range and to destroy the original layout? Were professional golf course designers involved or was it a committee of would be golfers after some tax payer’s money? I can understand why any club would want to build a range as this would generate membership but what a disaster!!! It not only cost a fortune, it damaged the GREAT original course design (whereby the 9th and 18th were beautiful feature holes) and has put people off playing there. Quite unbelievable.

I am also confused about your comment on the gravel. It’s in every bunker!!!! Without sounding rude; I take it you know the difference between gravel and sand? Unless they have completely replaced every bunker in the last few weeks.

With regard to the standard of playing there is no real rule with regard to dress code or conduct. I was playing the 18th, waiting to play my second shot when a group of 4 teed off hitting a ball right at us. When we turned to express our disbelief they shouted “if we wanted to hit you we could have” – Nice

The restaurant has not been open for some period of time to be fair although I agree with you that it out to be pulled down and re-built.

The staff are not rude just completely disinterested – Management issue!

Please feel free to describe your experience with the new 10th hole!!! Was that designed or a product of the new range? The 80 yard temporary hole was better!

On a positive note I would be happy to support you and your fellow members in making Stockley a better place as I am in the area and want good golf courses to play on. And it is definately worth a round for £10 but what sort of golfer is that going to attract

A decent course with consistent greens in good condition. A couple of holes are not up to the good standard of the rest of the course.

forget the 10th hole, it's still awful, the rest of the course is in really good condition, quick greens too. Spoke to the pro after my round and he says the 10th hole is getting worked on this year, so fingers crossed it'll be back to it's best soon. Only gripe would be slow play and mysterious groups appearing throughout the round on various holes......should a one ball take 4 hours 40 minutes to get round?????

I have to say I don't get all of the negative comments about Stockley. I've played there a few times and the course had always been in decent condition and the greens the last time I played (December 2011) were excellent. Admittedly the range has eaten into a couple of the holes but by and large the course is still a good layout. In fact, if the area on the right of the 10th were water (instead of a massive slag heap) it would be the signature hole!! In terms of value for money there are few places better so as long as you don't expect Wentworth!

Played today in a society and found the course to be in very good condition. Greens and fairways in great condition, much better than in the previous years now the changes to the course have settled in. Well worth a visit. Ring first and they will almost certainly do you a deal.

Fantastic course with great facilities for a public course. Played during December and was surprised in how good condition it was in.

Some nice holes but some of the fairways are in poor condition. IMO, quite expensive and always seems to be very busy on a Saturday morning.

I played Stockley Pines yesterday and i must say i was pleasantly surprised. I've just moved to the area but heard some mixed reviews about it. I played the other courses near by and must say this is the best choice by a long way. The condition of the course was fantastic, nice lush fairways, tough rough but a good test. I was told about the 10th hole before i played, and the young person in the shop showed me the plans for the new green and it is not as bad as some people here have said.

The staff were very nice and very helpful and we very much enjoyed our lunch afterwards.

I will certainly play this course again and maybe look at this new membership they are offering for £295. I don't get to play that much so this could be a good option for me.

Thank You again, see you soon

Played here around 18 months ago, and was not impressed. HOWEVER, came back and played a round last week, and can honestly say it has improved a great deal. Sure it is by no means perfect (10th hole is a work in progress), but if improvements continue this will be a great course. Well done to the new owners. For £13 a round (2 fore 1) it is a bargain.

I remember when this was launched amid great fanfare with world number one at the time Nick Faldo hitting the first drive and talk of the PGA tour being a regular visitor here. That never happened, and since then the course has been rearranged (to accommodate a driving range) which has ruined the best holes, the membership never took off and the council got involved, meaning it is now one of the worst courses in the area. The maintenance is shoddy at times and some of the course needs some serious money spent on it.

What a difference a year makes!
I played Stockley Pines (new name for Stockley Park) today, the course is so much better than last year, the greens are green, the fairways in good nick and the bunkers are really nice to play out of although I did have to much practice of getting out of them.

I was speaking to one of the members who told me the club has new owners, which is probably why the name is being changed. They are also investing in the club which is great to see as the place suffered in recent years.

The off peak green fee of £20 was good value for money and I will be going back next week for a twilight fee which is only £15.

Played on 27th March, when booking I was assured that the course was now in very good condition since the course was redesigned over the past 2 years.

We were both very disappointed with the overall condition of the course and at £35.00 a round we felt as if we had been mugged. The greens are patchy, the fairways vary wildly in quality and unfortunately my overall feeling is that this is of a golf club in serious decline.
