Stock Brook Manor Golf Club
The golf course consists of three loops of nine holes aptly named the Stock, Brook and the Manor. The main 6,950 yard championship layout features the two former nines, and designer Martin Gillett has created a fine test of golf that is a pleasure to play.
Gillett, an Essex based architect whose work includes supervising the construction of Wentworth's acclaimed South Course, makes clever use of the natural rolling landscape, the water features and many of the courses mature trees. Set in breathtaking Essex countryside, the Stock Brook course presents a delightful challenge for both deft stroke player and long hitters alike. Several of the course's shorter holes appear innocuous, but can easily destroy a good card. From a pick of a number of memorable golf holes, the Par 3 4th is already established as Stock Brook's signature hole. The facilities were excellent with everything that you would want from practice....mind you the chipping greens look like they need a good cut...The courses themselves, only played Stock and Manor, were in good nick and the greens, considering little rain played well

Excellent sister course to Three Rivers.Stock and Brook are the best 9's but equally Manor is worth playing. Decent aray of hazards throughout the course and plenty of large bunkers with excellent (fine) sand which pose a real challenge. The greens on the course are some of the best i've ever seen with multiple two tier examples, if you're unlucky the pin position will be a challenge. Decent yardage for both stock and brook with some long and equally short challenging holes. High handicapers may struggle due to yardage, tiered greens, bunkers and water on some holes. Booking early is advisable and definitely worth a visit. Very good club house and facilities.

Played today as part of society. Manor, do not bother with, once you've played the first 3 holes you enter a field with 6 holes. Most uninspiring 9 holes I have played. Things did improve on the Stock & Brook 9, but still many holes are up and down. Nice use of water on a couple of par 3's. Greens are unbelievably undulating, many a 3 putt on these. Clubhouse and facilities, are I am afraid about 2 classes ahead of the course. For value for money, definitely could not recommend this to fellow players, irrespective of handicap.

Went with a friends works day out. Course in very good condition. Temp greens were marked out but luckily were not in use. Some challenging holes with water in play. Food good, staff very welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed the round, not too difficult for a high handicapper to make a reasonable score. Played the Brook and the Stock in that order.

Only played twice. Very challenging and 27 holes provide 3 good combinations of 18. Course was in very good condition. Played in both summer and winter. Good deals reguarly keep the price down

A fairly good course in good condition but some of the holes don't have much going for them.
Not too difficult for beginner to moderate golfers and excellent facilities but I am surprised at the level of its rating - seems a little high to be honest.
