St Thomas's Priory Golf Club
18 hole parkland course set in the historic Armitage Park Estate with ancient woodland and lakes built by the Dominican Monks in 19th century. The signature hole is 18, measures 412 yards, a carry of 150 yards over three pools built by the Dominican’s. A good drive will leave you ideally positioned on a plateau overlooking the green surrounded by bunkers and any other errant shots will gather in the large undulations short of the green. Many varieties of wildlife can be found within the boundaries of the course, providing the perfect backdrop to parkland Championship Course. Contact Information

interesting course, hilly with some blind shots. Will go back and play when the weather is better. Would advise a buggy but couldnt be used on this day due to wet ground

Course was very challenging. Accuracy off the tee is definitely needed as the rough is very long. I enjoyed most of the holes, with some very unique ones. The tenth is interesting playing into a valley. The 18th is also fun, trying to hit through a narrow gap in the trees over water.

played the course last saturday, booked a tee time for a fiver each on the special offers i get sent through, what a lovely course it was aswell, some really nice holes, the second hole par 3 down hill, where the ball stays in the air for ages is really nice, greens were good and everyone was friendly (except the annoying 4 ball in front who wouldn't let us play through even though they were wandering in the bushes for most of the round) but staff were good and food was nice, will go again soon

A truly beautiful course, yes the rough was very deep but the variety of holes and course lay out was technically challenging. The 10th is a hole to be reckoned with. The course is very hilly so if you struggle i would recommend you make use of the buggies. Mid week game and it was very quiet. I would definately go again, though this time i would hope to have a better round.

Well, Heidi goes golfing. A good course if you have one leg shorter than the other.
The changing room was the only semi-decent thing about the course.
The range was a disgrace, the balls were basically found ball from the rough, it was too far away from the clubhouse, i was sweating and puffing before i teed off!
If it wasn't for the buggies i'd have walked off after Nine holes, basically through exhaustion!!
The geens were awful i got one ball to stick on a green. The rough was too thick and penal. i almost liked the way the course designer made you think abit more. Cut a flippin course guide would have been nice.
I won't play here again. Not worth the journey. The Course

Wow.. what can I say!!, My legs are aching and if I see a hill in the next 24 hours I will die!. A very challenging course for the beginner like me. Very blind holes ( not helped by the lack of course guide), but the greens are awesome ( if a little challenging). The rough is very rough and balls are easily lost (could do with trimming a little). If you enjoy sadism golf this is the course for you. Or just hire a buggy!!. I would play again but may wait until I have improved slightly.. and they have printed a course guide. But... the fact we played a round for only £7.50 through tee times makes it great value for money.

what a great course (if you're fit), very hilly but the greens are in top condition (aug 09). the staff in the clubhouse very helpful, i actually booked my round with one of the chefs from their kitchens as no one else about!
other players were friendly (allowed me to play through even though i was on my own) and had a bit of a chat and banter with a few of them... recommended ******The Course

Great course!! very testing, if your not on the fairway you're in trouble as the rough is rough that would not go a miss at any british open venue.
Will be even better now I know where i'm going as a few of the holes are played blind and the club are awaiting delivery of course planners.
Whats more and good of St Thomas to be taking part in is that you can book to play the course on line with OnlineTeeTimes.co.uk, O.k we tee'd off at 07.32 to get it at that rate but it saved us a whopping 83% off the normal green fees costing us just a Fiver to play. The Course

1st time I have played here - was not a bad course for a wet Friday morning - most holes had temporary greens which were very poor. shot 83 which was decent - some blind tee shots especially the 10th - loved the 18th driving through an avenue of trees over a lake - cost £20 for the round - if was not on temp greens would have enjoyed it a lot more - worth a visit though

I've only played there once. Nice up and down course with a good view. The green was difficult to read for me and confusing to find a next hole.
