Southerndown Golf Club
Originally designed by Willie Fernie in 1905 with later modifications by Herbert Fowler and Willie Park - and most recently by Donald Steel - Southerndown takes full advantage of its natural features.
There are many longer courses, but few with a finer set of par-threes. Equally memorable are the closing holes, usually played into the wind. The 18th in particular with its intimidating gorse and renowned split-level fairway will live long in the memory. Contact Information

Location
Location: From the M4 motorway take junction 35 and after 3 miles join the A48 near Bridgend. After 1/2 mile turn left along the B4265 signposted Llantwit Major and Ogmore by Sea. At the village of Ewenny (1/2 mile) turn right and follow the Ogmore river valley for 2 miles to the ruins of Ogmore castle. The road to Southerndown golf club is a left turning immediately past the Pelican Inn.

Great links course on the hill - we played on a very windy day and it was a tough challange. Course has alot of history and is in good condition. Worth a visit but be prepared to battle the wind.
