The three courses, Hawk, Heron and Vixen have been designed with spaciousness and nature in mind and have been blended into the established gently rolling landscape. Location
Location: Leave the M25 at Junction 29 and take the A127 towards Southend-on-Sea. Turn off at the Halfway House exit onto the A128 to Brentwood. South Essex Golf Centre is a few hundred yards on the right.

Its quite a challenging course, especially for a high handicapper, lots of bunkers fairway & green-side. Greens are in good condition and can be a little tricky with most greens being 2 tiered or fairly undulating, fairly quick too.We played during the week, normal price £24.00 but we used 2 fore 1 vouchers from Today's Golfer, which made it fantastic value. I would definitely go back. And as for Richard Gagley saying harts-wood is the superior course not a chance, i like Harts-wood but the fairways and especially the greens there are poor compared to South Essex and the course itself is not as challenging.

Just played this course for the 1st time today and was very impressed.
Choice of 3 courses and the 2 we played today they was very well laid out with good signs to next tee & not to far apart eithere!
Excellent fairways & rakes in every Bunker (That i saw.)
Greens running very true & very well maintained with very little patch's!
The only bad green we come across was on the 7th where there was duck poop on & around the green due to very large pond. But the club can't be blamed for mother nature! lol
Great chipping & bunkers practice area.
Could do with a few more bays in DR and maybe a 125Yd marker but thats me being a little to fussy!! lol
Very friendly & helpfull staff!
Looking forward to next visit there which maybe next weekend!

All greens open (feb) and only 2 temp tees. Very nice course and will return again soon. Some nicely placed bunkers which are testing for your higher handicap players.
