Having played here yesterday (and regularly over the years) I can honestly say that the course is in the best condition I've ever seen it.

You could argue that the course 'suffers' from newbies who hack, slice and cut up the fairways, but I think that would be a little unfair. It's open to the public and golfers of all abilities, which is a great thing because it's certainly a course you can learn from and use to master different types of shots. We all have to start somewhere.

Despite that though, the playing conditions were excellent yesterday. The fairways were beautifully short and fast, and the greens were nice and smooth. I managed to sink a 16ft putt which did not deviate off the line at all.

After your round you can enjoy refreshments at the excellent clubhouse. Sitting outside with your playing partners with food and drink, overlooking the fountain and pond and 18th green, you can really reflect on how nice the preceeding 18 holes were.

This course is not a premium course - but at just £20 at the weekends you probably get more value for money than any other course in the area - but it has all the facilities of one, such as a driving range, putting green and pro shop. There's no snobbery or exclusions of weaker players. It's a course that welcomes players of all abilities - something a few other courses could learn from.

Will definitely continue to play at Six Hills.

Memberships not required, bookings are required.
9th is not near the clubhouse, so take a drink out with you!
Holds quite well in the winter.

We play here about once a fortnight, it is a very well kept course and disregarding the comment above the greens are always very good. It is not quite as challenging as some other courses but it is a decent day out!

A bit of a so-so course, it's resonably well kept and there are some good holes but there is out of bounds on so many holes it's easy to rack up a big score even when you haven't played that badly.

The coarse has been lengthened considerably on the back nine holes. This has made it far more of a challenge. This coarse is still good for the beginner / high handicapper, but also retains a degree of difficulty. the reception at Six Hills is always warmly welcoming and the food is very good too! overall for 19 quid at the weekend this is one the better all round municipal courses in Leicestershire. You can play on the real green stuff pretty much all year round, altough they do use tee mats in winter . Well worth a visit!

I found the course quite easy fo a beginner,with wide(ish) fairways and easy to reach greens.I think a good player would rip this course to pieces, but for a beginner(like myself!!) or even an average player, this is a wonderful course to hone your skills. the proshop and the clubhouse is warm and welcoming with excellent food and drinks, and at just £14 for a round on a weekday, and £18 for a weekend(booking of tee times needed!) its a great bargain all round. Id certainly recommend anybody to try this course.

What a surprise this was. First impressions are of an open and rather bland layout - but that's where it ends - play it and you will be surprised + work currently in progress will enhance the course no end - No 'push over' and certainly worth playing.
The clubhouse was another surprise as was the menu - Not the usual Golf Club offering of 'Everything with Chips' You will enjoy the golf and the 19th.
