What the club says: The undulating 18-hole parkland course, opened in 1973, measures 5912 yards, par 71 & provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. It is one of the best kept municipal parkland courses in the North West and is open daily throughout the year from light until dusk.
Each hole has its own unique features. Generally wide fairways do not unduly punish the high handicappers, but even scratch players will do very well to finish under par. Two par fives, a sprinkling of par threes and some short (but challenging) and not so short (and still challenging!) par fours make sure there is something for everyone.
Challenging, yet easy to play if high handicapper as open park land for most of the course. Bunkers could do with some attention but the greens are well maintained (less the odd pitch marks from those that are less courteous).
Would recommend all to have a round, see for yourself. 7th hole is a challenge and if you can drive like McIlroy (320yds), then brave enough to Tiger line it over the trees (140-150 yds) you may get on the green in 2 for a birdie (If your lucky, Keep to the middle of the fairway). Over all very good course. (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 56 Handicap: )
Very quiet which enabled speedy play. (Round played: Jun 2014 - Score: 97 Handicap: 24)
good price as well
play early as it does get busy (Round played: Mar 2014 - Score: 99 Handicap: 28)
Too busy and groups too close together.
£21.60 for a round? Far too expensive. Much better courses out there for less
