Location: There are several entrances to Sherdley Park, all of which converge on the Clubhouse (The Tavern).

The easiest route is via the A570 St Helens linkway. The park is on the right when heading North from the M62 junction. The entrance is close to the roundabout at the junction with the B5204 and is well signposted.

What the club says: The undulating 18-hole parkland course, opened in 1973, measures 5912 yards, par 71 & provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. It is one of the best kept municipal parkland courses in the North West and is open daily throughout the year from light until dusk.

Each hole has its own unique features. Generally wide fairways do not unduly punish the high handicappers, but even scratch players will do very well to finish under par. Two par fives, a sprinkling of par threes and some short (but challenging) and not so short (and still challenging!) par fours make sure there is something for everyone.

Great value for money as I get a round for £7.50 ( weekday ). Very well kept municipal course. Fantastic for a novice like myself. Never actually used the facilities and I reckon they should invest in buggies since the hill to the 13th can be a killer.

good fairways nice course but to much sand on greens .enjoyed it just couldnt speed of ball on the putting.

Sherdley Park was once for me one of the best courses in the north west, but the value for money just isnt there anymore.
The course is still in good condition considering the terrible weather lately, but at £18 for just a round of golf its a little expensive.
Offers such as a breakfast included or discount for fourballs would attract a lot more golfers as others courses are much more appealing with the deals on offer!
No Buggies! No Offers! We were also quoted £11 for todays game only to be told when we arrived that it has been put up to £18 which isnt right!

Played the course towards the back end of the year. Excellent value for a municipal. Only criticism is the tee boxes which are very uneven and rutted. Some very easy holes but also very tough holes (sixth and eighteenth). Overall a very good day.

Realy well kept course for a municipal, slightly overpriced @£18 but proberly going rate on a weekend. greens in a nice condition too.

Fairways very soft, also fringe around the greens. but in all course is in very good condition considering all the rain we have had recently.
