Shendish Manor Golf Club
London Road, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP3 0AA United Kingdom
Our par 70, 18 hole Golf Course is designed to USPGA specifications by Henry Cotton and Donald Steel. It is both challenging and enjoyable, featuring, as it does, a mix of hazards through parkland and woodland copses.
Because it stands on chalk sub-strata with a constant drainage system, we are able to offer year-round golfing on permanent tees and greens. The Coach House bar is perfectly placed for the 19th hole and offers all-day breakfasts as part of the menu.Book a Tee Time

Not too challenging a course and maybe could do with a few water features to increase the interest level but the fairways and greens were in good nick. Overall enjoyed it and good value for the money.

Quite a short course but you need to be straight or it will bite your backside!!
The greens are large and in good condition, nice to putt on.

Nice course with a couple of good holes. Not much to write home about but it is well looked after.

The course is fairly short and flat on the front nine, but comes to life on the back nine. Overall a short course but a fair test for most mid to high handicap players

Agree with the previous poster. However, the course condition does seem to have improved since last year with the fairways, bunkers and rough all being in decent condition, but the greens were inconsistent with the ball dying at times. Views are good though and it's good value for money at £12 for twilight rounds.

Thought the greens were in a poor poor shape with the ball bobbling all over the place, We had a society day and the food service for the lunch was a bit lapse a daisycal, other than that it was in a beautiful setting and has the potential to be a better course.

Green were woolly, fairways not mown. Has potential to be a lot better than it is with more care.

This course in the summer is one of my favourites but in the winter it is a place to avoid like the plague! It gets so wet in winter i have actually been up to my ankles in mud and when i have finished i look like i have been on a building site not a golf course

Opening 7 holes still developing, but from 8 onwards the course becomes a good challenge. Twilight rates are very good!

Visited on 29 May. To be fair, it has been very wet lately. But, once agin, an impression of grass cutting being underattended to. The "fairway" werer very long and no "first cut" to their edges.
However, the greens were absolutely excellent, way above the standard implied by the greenfees.
The reception man was top notch and the visit very good value. Pity about the beer thgough.

Opening hole was a good Par 3. Crossing the road to play holes 2 to 6, they were very flat, boring and nothing special. On crossing back over to play 8 to 18, the course really took shape and was enjoyable and the holes were tight.
When we played however, the fairways were like light rough, the tee boxes needed cutting as in fact did the whole course. Very hard to identify the fairway and rough from another. The greens themselves also need work as there was moss growing everywhere on certain holes.
Has the potential to be a very good course if it is maintained better, but for the price, better off going somewhere like Rickmansworth.

Pity that the bar does not serve real ale, but plenty of pubs close by.

We enjoyed our visit in that the course was uncrowded and the greens were in very good nick. The fairways had been left long, but in a wet January that is fair enough. It remians clear that this is an established nine extended to eighteen in that a number of holes are very plain. We did not use the bar as they do not sell real ale.
Overall this place merits a visit for good value golf.
