I travelled to Seaham with moderate expectations after looking at their website but upon arriving immediately knew that an enjoyable day was in store. The course has some very short holes but you will need to make the most of these as there are also some long par 3's, 4's and a 549 yard par 5 (off the yellows) to make up for this. The greens were fast and true with some severe borrows to test the best of putters and, pleasingly, the bunkers actually had some nice sand in them instead of the hard clay-like substance I so often find these days.
Everyone around the course was very welcoming and the small pro shop was packed to the rafters with all of the latest gear. £27 for a full day's golf is money well spent at Seaham but using 2 Fore 1 vouchers you can play all day for £13.50 - what a bargain. Looking forward to returning already.

As a high handicapper i found seaham an excellent course to play. The majority of holes pose a challenge but with the course being relatively short you can enjoy the challenges without seeing your score rack up to a discouraging level. First impressions of the course are that it looks fairly average and nothing exciting, but that changes once you realise that the greens are very well guarded and the greens themselves are fast and rarely straightforward to putt on. A word of warning - beware the green on the 17th it is much steeper than it first looks and its a very stiff put from the front and a very speedy demise if you are putting down from the back. The holes around the turn are great opportunities to make up shots but these are evened out by other holes such as the 16th which can be real card wreckers. Obviously it's wise to hit the fairways however if you do miss them then the rough is a punishment without making you feel you'll never find your ball again. The people around the course were really friendly and the pro shop is very well stocked. We used 2 fore 1 vouchers so the value for a days golf was very good. We went to Seaham to try somewhere new which took the vouchers even though it was a bit further a way than we usually travel. We turned up not expecting anything special but Seaham surpassed our expectations and we had a great days golf. We will be back.

Seaham is quite hilly in places with some interesting holes. It is mainly just a boring old up and down course. Always kept in good condition so it is enjoyable.
