What the club says: Here at Sandfield Golf course situated outside Chester, we take great pride in the quality of our 9 hole golf course. We have a beautiful location and continue to alter and improve course constuction where appropriate. We are constantly improving the quality of the grasses on the tees and greens and we aim to produce a good quality and enjoyable 9 hole pay and play course.

Brilliant

Great little 9 hole course with mixed difficulties. Took my 7 year old and perfect for us both.
Very boggy but it’s winter golf!

Good, interesting parkland course with good drainage. Played this course in the winter of 2023 as it was one of the few courses open in my area. I found the course a little soggy in places but overall in good condition. All the greens were in good condition with no standing water and good surfaces. Only downside to this course is that it's not long.

Course and Range

The course is very good slightly gone down hill in my opinion. Bunkers are full of weeds, greens have pitch marks all over them, Tee off areas are not level, No distance markers (posts or discs in the ground) No golf shop, No cafe, Range balls are fit for the bin, Range mats are appalling and worn out, Bays are Tatty, whole place in general looks run down tatty and needs some serious money thrown at the place to bring it up to date.

Mats worn out and range balls are terrible, mixture of balls which even some new ones are like hitting conkers. With the mats been so solid be prepared to have your Club’s realigned after hitting there for some time. Not a place to practice if your a low handicap or a serious golfer that wants to improve. The course however is excellent perfect for a short warm up round before playing 18 holes. If you a reasonable golfer and it’s quite, you can easily get round it in an hr playing on your own. Little bit longer obviously if there’s two of you playing. Very good value for money also. A testy little course not to be taken lightly just because it’s only a short 9 holes. Hardest hole on there believe it or not is hole 6 only 70+ yards but with a small domed green.

The practice balls at this range need changing a lot of the ones that I got were cracked and when you hit them you could see them wavering in the air because they have seen better days
