Royal North Devon Golf Club
Founded in 1864, the Royal North Devon is the oldest course in England and Wales. Although Old Tom Morris was involved with the design in the 19th century, the course you play today is more a reflection of the work Herbert Fowler did in 1908. A challenging links situated on the rugged North Devon coast, its exposed position, multitudes of spiky rushes, naturally formed grassy mounds and deep pot bunkers pose a number of questions to every level of golfer.Contact Information

Played on 2/8/2011. An excellent course, and the Oldest Links Course in England. Usually £50 a round, but £25 after 4pm at the moment. I would thoroughly recommend it. Greens were firm, quick and true, and the scenery is fantastic! Stephen.

A bit windy but an enjoyable day playing with Fred Bird (my step father inlaw) a RND member. Well drained and looked after course.

Looks very open and easy - think again; you may hit the middle of the fairway, but swales and borrows can leave your ball in awkward positions. Great sea views up to the ninth hole. A true links test. Watch out for the reeds, they swallow balls and don't let them out again.

A good course with the biggest bunker I have seen, Some holes are very punishing needing long straight drives. The down side is the cost, at £60 for 2 day tickets I felt it was a little pricey.

Not one of my favourates. A links course and 'the oldest course in England' the facitilites are good but after the first nine holes the course looses interest. The last nine are all similar with blind hits over scrub on to fairways full of sheep. Greens were well kept. Worth playing once.

I think we were lucky as the wind wasn't a problem, and they had a big tournament the following week, so the course was immaculate. We played well (for us) and the staff couldn't have been more hospitable. Good value for just over £40, and the ham egg and chips were good too!
