What the club says: The Point at Polzeath (Formerly known as Roserrow Golf Club) is a par 72, 18 hole golf course in beautiful north cornwall, incorporating a wooded valley with a stream with views towards Polzeath beach. The spectacular golfing greens of the ninth and eighteenth are overlooked by the welcoming Club house. All visitors are very much welcome (and dogs too!)

The course is a real challenge for golfers of all standards and plays just short of 7000 yards off the back tees. With some of the best views in North Cornwall from many of the holes, The Point is much more than just a resort course and is home to a thriving members club and hosts visiting societies and golfers from all over England.

Considering the weather over the last few months I thought the fairways and greens in particular were in very good condition - well done keepers. Club staff very friendly and only too happy to help. (Round played: Mar 2014 - Score: 96 Handicap: 25.5)

The whole experience has changed since I last visited some time ago. The course is now a proper challenge yet takes advantage of the fabulous Cornish coast scenery. Greens run well and the owners have re shaped some areas to good effect. Restaurant food is brilliant and the service there reflects the local welcome which was so badly missing under the previous owners. Seriously consisting bringing the family down for the summer.

What a change from the last time I played 2 years ago. There seem to be changes and improvements to virtually every hole on the course. Fun, challenging and very pretty with amazing views. Loved it.

Had my first taste of The Point last week as a members guest. Clearly a club in transition and the bar and particularly the restaurant are very smart and welcoming. Played on a wet day after the long, hot spell and greens and tees had clearly taken a battering as they were horrible and the bunkers were full of rubble and not sand! Greens were patchy and most annoyingly the fringes were either bare or long lush grass. The tee's were also baked hard mud with no grass and very unattractive. I appreciate this may be due to the unusually warm and then very wet weather but a slight reduction of the excessive £20 members guest fee would have softened the blow. Some lovely views and some interesting holes proves the potential however, based on this visit there is work to do.

Course I understand now under new owners and beginning to get into good condition as previously ( 2011/12 ) greens were a bit ropey. Staff found to be happy to help and friendly. (Round played: Apr 2013 - Score: 99 Handicap: 24.8)

Have been playing here (about 3 times a week) for about a year now and love it. New ownership came in a while ago and things are really improving. Course is looking very healthy and well kept, and generally feeling much better thought out. Staff and club members all really friendly too!

lovely course. well laid out and sign posted. Could do with more yardage makers (some hole lack even a 150 yard sign) Greens where overly firm in my view but decent to putt on. Take lots of balls as the rough is about knee high and very lush. That would be my only con to the course is it was needlessly harsh i felt. semi rough was between 5 and 15 foot either side of the fairways then the thick rough was nearly unplayable if you was ever lucky enough to find it in the jungle where it landed. Overall a nice course andi went back 2 days later enjoying it just as much. (Round played: May 2012 - Score: 97 Handicap: 16.8)

I thought the below review was not a fair review. Ihave too played at over 30 corses around the country and believe the back nine on this corse is as good as any other. It is however, over priced in the high season.

Where do you start, first and most important. this place is so over priced at 35 quid. i've played golf all over the country, at different prices. i wouldn't pay any more than ten pound to play here. but i wouldn't ever play here again, even if it was free. the course is in a very very bad state of repair, the tee boxes were terrible, just uneven piles of soil and grass seed. the greens where even worse, it was like trying to put on lego, patches of soil, with the odd bit of grass on it and what grass there was, was covered in pitch marks. the course does not have enough makers on the blind drives, u have no idea where to aim and there is no avalible course planner. and the icing on the cake, the buggy that cost 20 quid a round, lasted the large amount of 11 holes, leaving us havin to push it for 3 holes. when we address this matter with the staff in the clubhouse, we were told the manager was un-avalible. cuz he was out, having a knock round the course. overall the worse golf course we have ever visited. stay away, plenty of choice near this place, do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

Greens had suffered from poor maintenance, and contradictory comments came from staff regarding situation. Whilst the greens had been topdressed and tined, the lack of cutting for 5 days made putting a farce. Not impressed that the |Spike Bar closed promptly at 6.00 pm. Understand that new owners have been in place since late 2010, and positive action should have improved the greens so that it will in due course be a good and proper test of golf.

Solid course and enjoyable to play. Probably came away underwhelmed based on the quality of the courses locally but nevertheless, it is a good challenge - especially when the wind gets up.
