Course is much improved with fairways and greens in much better condition then last year, still wouldn't play off the mounds though, due to all the brinks. Lots of standing water and general drainage still needs sorting.

The course was really good value , it was a shame about the weather as the greens and bunkers were very slow due to the water. realy enjoyed it

Risebridge is a nice but tricky golf course. Needs some attention and gets quite boggy during wet weather. But with a bit of dry weather it's a good course. The bunkers are in dire need of attention, don't try and splash the ball out, just take your PW and nip it off the top!

Great value for money but poorly maintained. Hardly any bins so rubbish was littered about, some greens a quite bobbly, the tees are horrendous (they were rock solid) and some fairways have these huge banks each side that are full of construction rubble under the grass. The round was also slow and this apparently is not unusual so if you want a quick game avoid this place. This is great as a practice golf course plus it's so cheap you can't go wrong hence my'good' overall rating. At £9 on a weekend afternoon this is credit crunch golf 100%1

Risebridge is a good golf course but it is handicapped by it's location.
When I played in September 2011 the course was in a good condition. The tees and fairways were good. Bunkers are poor. This is due to kids using the course as their playground. Therefore, no rakes, missing tee markers, etc.
Greens were very good when I played, but they obviously are not cutting the grass too short ready for the winter. All you had to do was hit your putts a bit harder than you thought.
Overall, worth a visit and very reasonable rates. I paid £14 for a round of golf which included a bacon roll. It's £15 at weekends with the bacon roll.
Well worth a visit, and a good test of your game. But if you are looking for a well manicured course give it a miss!

This course could be fantastic with well designed holes, great views of Central London, good food etc but the maintenace of the course is shocking. No ball cleaners,no yardage markers,no sand in the bunkers or rakes, greens like shagpile carpets, football corner flags on the greens, loose grass cuttings everywhere, people playing in jeans or tracksuit bottoms, football shirts & trainers. If your a serious Golfer and like a well groomed course then avoid this place but if you want a cheap round then this is for you. Overall a very disappointing experience on a course that has a lot of potential but very badly looked after.

Never been a fan of this course even though i have been going there on and off for 30 years.Yesterday it was back to the bad old days with young children roaming the course trying to find balls and a man wandering across a fairway carrying his shopping and at one stage we got held up by two old ladies walking their 4 dogs down the 12th fairway. There has been a flag sticking out of the small water hazard in front of 14 for at least five years since the kids threw it in there. The only improvement is the fact you no longer find motobikes have been using the greens as skidpans although now the security has quite clearly been slackened off it can only be a matter of time.If you are short of cash then this is the place for you if you want to play real golf then go to a real golf course. If you have the misfortune to be greeted by the fellow behind the counter that served us yesterday then you will get a grunt and a look of disgust.in short DONT BOTHER.

A coarse that has many different holes tough and not so tough, its a test for all golfers,Good value for money we paid £15.00 on a sunday with a bacon roll.We have been playing this coarse for many years and the changes and money that have been spent on this coarse can only be applauded.
What lets this coarse down and has for many years are the bunkers,no sand ,no rakes,
what a shame because it lets the coarse down badly if this was put right then Risebridge would stand up against the other local coarses.

Played as part of a group of 8, after reading some of the reviews, with some trepidation. Need to take into account, a public course, and the Tees are pretty bad, difficult to find a flat stance, no putting green to practise before you start, no rakes in the bunkers. and very little sand. But, 18 great holes, long short, a challenge whatever your handicap. Greens weren't perfect, but played on worse at private courses, and only unrepaired pitch marks, so just make sure you repair them on your line. And for a Sat morning, £ 15 and a bacon roll .... Credit Crunch golf, great value !!!

For £15 per round and £15 for a buggy you also get a free roll in with the price.Greens are in good condition but can hold water on the edge of some of them.Bunkers can be hard sand.

Course design provides a decent challenge, with some testing holes. However, it is a public course, so does have issues re maintenance, pace of play etc.

Unbelievable value. As half of Stratford is now dumped on the course, it will take time to mature but great value, certainly harder down the back 9 but a good day's play available... if no one's driving a motorbike across the fairway on your drive!

Great Confidence building course due to wide fairways. Back 9 is definitely harder, our foursome all carded higher.
