Pyecombe Golf Club
Pyecombe Golf Club is situated six miles north of Brighton, set in the heart of the proposed South Downs National Park, laid out on two rolling ridges and in the valley between.
These peaceful surroundings offer a challenging course with magnificent panoramic views of the Sussex Weald with its famous windmills Jack and Jill. Blankets of native bluebells and wild orchids, secretive badgers, shy deer, stoats and kestrels are but a few of the delights.Contact Information

Very nice track. On the South Downs so you need to be in the mood for a walk or get a buggy. Even though it was raining in the week it was very dry under foot

Good layout, pro in the shop wasn't over friendly with green fees and got dostracted talking to someone else whilst taking my money and basically ignored me, not great customer service. Fun course, some very good holes and the greens were in great condition for December.

you need a strong heart and legs to make it through the first 5 holes at Pyecombe, but if you do and if you have scored well then you are in for a great round.
The course is by no means long or over bunkered, the natural lay out is enough of a test.
Straight will always over long here.
No problems with play in the winter as the course is set on the south end of the chalk downs.
A very good course that rewards good ball striking and shaping but penalises wayward shots. The Course

A beautiful downland course with great views over the South Downs and Brighton. Overall length (5951 yds) off the yellows is not extreme, but when the wind is blowing, and it usually is, many holes play much longer than the number on the scorecard. You will do well to play to your handicap here, but you will enjoy the round. Remember to get access codes to the changing rooms from the pro shop...sigh...

Lovely course set in the south downs. Hardly any holes is played on the level - I love these sort of courses, makes it all the more interesting. Went down recently on my own - 2 members invited me to join them. Very friendly and an enjoyable couple of beers afterwards.

A Hilly downland course, but doesnot feel as bad to walk as it looks, especially once you get off the 4th green. Good fairways, good greens. If you can use the course's contours to your advantage you can score well here, mind you I would say that as I had my lowest ever score here, and nearly got run out of town for scoring 46 points off 13! Could be a bit more accomodating to the general public, but the club belongs to the members so it's there choice I suppose.

course that plays in almost any weather. Nothing easy here and 2 of the par 3s have just been redesigned to add to the challenge. Not the longest of courses but deceptively challenging. As for the last 3 holes I can only assume the other reviewere had a bad round!

Generally good downland course with a number of challenging and interesting holes. Not many easy holes for me. Last 3 holes are a real slog and a bit boring which is a bit disappointing as the rest is good.
