Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club

Grangemuir Road, Prestwick, Strathclyde, KA9 1SN United Kingdom

Prestwick St Nicholas Golf ClubPrestwick St. Nicholas Golf Club, established in 1851, is right at the heart of a wonderful golfing area in Ayrshire. With a sense of history and tradition, and commanding beautiful views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran in the West and Ailsa Craig in the South, golfing at St. Nicholas is an experience not to be missed. The course is a challenging and tight traditional links of 5,952 yards in length with a Par of 69. Due to its proximity to the shoreline, an almost ever-present wind ensures that the course provides a good test of golfing ability. The shorter hitter of the ball however will not suffer, as few of the holes require long carries from the tee to reach the fairways.

1st visit to play golf here pro shop was closed in the morning but, a member got the guy out for me to sort out a tee time for the afternoon. shop was closed again when i played here. course was great greens quite fast but, overall a great course to play . get a stroke saver though as the scorecard doesn't have a map of the course, couple of blind tee shots at the 4th & 6th holes !

Played this course on 26 March 2010 in absolutely abysmal weather. Heavy rain and 30mph gusts. Still the course played brilliantly. The greens were excellent and true. Some of the holes like the 6th and 7th were real monsters to play in those winds. The staff were really friendly and welcoming (especially the starter). A really top course. I would love to play it again in good weather.
