by Michael Noel on 25th June 2008Played this course early June 2008 during midweek and loved every minute of it. Greens are great, fairways fairly open, and if your ball goes into the pine trees you can easily find the ball and at least have a shot out of the trouble.
Weekends I hear are quite a different matter as far as being overcrowded. The Course

by Andy Kenyon on 14th April 2008Play Sun 13th March in VGS Comp. Course stood up well to torrential showers throughout the round. Started at around 11.15am and finished at 4.25pm - a round of over 5 hours (and it felt like it) This appears to be quite usual and not cause by the rain. If playing here, allow a gtood 5 hours for the round.

by David Guy on 2nd March 2008Very picturesque course with its many pine trees as the name suggests. An excellent course for the high handicapper, as fairways often run into each other, meaning little chance to lose a ball or having to hack out of heavy grass.
On the downside - not so challenging for the low handicappers - especially as there are virtually no bunkers. The rounds can be very long 4 1/2 - 5 hrs is not untypical - due to high number of 4 balls and high handicappers being packed in - and no marshall hurrying people up. It's also a tad expensive for a public course at £31 whilst other courses nearby are more like £25.
Despite the downsides - still one of my favourite courses! The Course

by Nigel Payne on 21st February 2008Having just played this course in cold, frosty conditions in mid-February(still £31.00 w/end) the course is in excellent condition. Only two temporary tees were in force due to previous water logging but that did not spoil the round. Playing weekends does mean plenty of 3 & 4 balls which does create slow play. our round was 5 hours. Good course for novices as very wide fairways and very little grass due to pine trees and needles also very large greens. One gripe only, on sunny winter days the range faces the rising sun and makes seeing your ball almost impossible. Good freindly service in the golf shop, there is a restaurant and seperate bar and plenty of parking. Recommend a visit to anyone.

by Graham Keen on 19th February 2008A super course, I always enjoy playing here. Can be quite forgiving for high handicappers like myself, fortunately I played out of my skin on the day!
Come rain or shine (or ice) the course always seems to be in good condition. The Course

by Lee Popham-lithgow on 2nd February 2008This course is fantastic. I always look forward to playing it, apart from the tees times being so close and the clubhouse decor looking tired. You can pretty much guarantee that if the courses in Surrey are waterlogged that this will still be open and reasonably dry. The holes 6 through to nine are a bit boring as they are flat by the ones before and after make up for them. Well worth a visit, but make sure you get an early tee off so that you can get around in four hours.

by Stephen Danks on 28th January 2008Pine Ridge offers excellent practice facilities as well as lessons, ten pin bowling, and a good bar/ restaurant. Recently been bought by Crown Golf, and I believe they are to improve the bar area, and maybe offer better deals. Main benefit of Pine ridge, is the course is very playable in the winter, due to good soil drainage. The course is tremendous, and in the summer, you can get massive distance on drives due to the hard ground and the flat fairways. Back 9 is more tricky and a good test for any golfer. Recommend a visit.

by Jason Diffenthal on 30th October 2007My favorite course. I love wooded courses and the sound of your driver from one of the tees, with trees all around on a crisp early morning is one of the essences the game:-)

Very enjoyable - nice wide fairways but still a challenge. Suitable for both high and low handicappers. Food was good and great value for a Golf Society atjust £40 including a round and a 3-course meal!!!The Course

by Gordon Newlands on 30th August 2007Very scenic and well maintained public course, reasonable value at £31 for a weekend game. All the fairways are lined with pine trees but there's a very good chance that you'll find your ball if you hit it into them, though you may have to play pine tree pinball to get out again! Nice putting green and decent driving range, though I did have a minor gripe that you could only buy a minimum of 60 balls (£3.50) which is more than I want for a warm up. Fairly hilly in parts, especially on the back 9, and some wider fairways to open your shoulders on. Always popular so expect a 5 hour round with a guaranteed wait on the 2nd tee. Good bar and tasty beef and onion baguettes! Overall, highly recommended.

by Frances Pendle on 17th June 2007This is a very nicely cared for course. It is always in good condition and at £31.00 for a weekend round always good value. Tee times however are 7 minutes apart and so sometimes rounds can be slow. There is an excellent driving range, the food is good even if the clubhouse is a bit dark.
