Parklands Golf Club
High Gosforth Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE3 5HQ United Kingdom
Although quite small - the eighteen hole course measures only 6060 yards - it is still a demanding par 71 with water intersecting the well-maintained fairways on ten holes, and out of bounds on eleven, so concentration and accuracy are vital to score well here.Book a Tee Time

Fairly new to golf so I can give you a golf laymans view of this club.
Set in wonderful Gosforth park grounds,...Carpark is a little rough and ready but ample space to park.
Clubhouse is very nice and welcoming.
Staff are very attentive.
Shop is adequetly stocked, price matches on equipment, with attentive pleasant staff.
Driving range bays have been refurbished, new mats and range targets.
I have had several lessons from 'Mark Stancer' for me he was brilliant at learning me the game and bringing me on and is a nice guy.
As a recent golfer and not a slow player I find the six minute tee off times a little close together and can make you feel a bit under pressure at times (suppose this also depends on how busy it is and how good a player you are)
There has been a lot of work done over the winter and some ongoing work for drainage etc.
Winter tees were not the best but the course is opening up nicely now.
The wildlife can be great, especially early mornings.
This course will come into its own over the next few years as it matures so I am happy to play there and learn the game.
Overall a pleasant experience and maybe new members could be given HUGE financial savings on membership fees for the first year to join and play (Hint) although there is no joining fee at this club.
I have played 2 rounds this week here so it cant be that bad, low handicap wealthy players might not agree with this comment.

I play this course regularly as it is conveniently close to me and I am stuck for time.
Ongoing drainage work, lots of sand on the greens, discarded empty plastic bottles in the rough and trees which are regularly left for days.
on an up note, great crazy golf for the kids, nice club house.
£10 for a morning winter green game on a weekday day then £16 the next weekday I played ??.. whats all that about.

Heavy rain caused some greens to have too much lying surface water, otherwise a decent course

played this course last week, the course was an absolute disgrace. winter tees thats fair enough for this time of year most courses have them but the winter greens were disgusting , u couldnt even call them greens they were a bit of fairway with a hole cut and flag stuck in the middle and wernt even cut..... we were playing as a 22 man society asked for a little discount or something back in return for the terrible conditions and basicly got told togo do a running jump..... first time i had played this course and unfortunately it has put me off i now woudlnt even play this course in the summer very very poor .......on a lighter note the crazy golf course was in good shape.

This course is maturing into a fine parkland layout, with trees and strategically placed water hazards a feature of the course. The course is flat but still picturesque in parts and golfers of all ability have a chance as it is not the longest, but still a good test. A newly refurbished driving range and well stocked pro shop complete the picture.

This course has improved a great deal over the years. The condition is much improved but the rough has become very punishing. The facilities are very good and it is a place for good value parkland golf near the city of Newcastle.
