Newbury Racecourse Golf Club
Set within the beautiful surroundings of Newbury Racecourse, the 18 hole track follows gently undulating countryside and through the use of excellent drainage, allows the course to be playable throughout the year. The holes are made up of 12 holes within the centre of the race track, offering links type golf with some additional water features. The last 6 holes are Parkland in character. The course is surprisingly challenging thanks to its water features and newly placed bunkers, the course also benefits from the raising of several tees making many of the holes aesthetically pleasing.

Would have been disappointed if I'd paid £18 a round. Booked through Tee Off Times and thought it worth a visit at £9 per round. The rough was deep but the fairways were generally in good condition, the greens were a little muddy but for £9 I couldn't grumble. The course is generally very open so those who want to can open their shoulders. The wind was very strong so you need to be straight.

A truly shocking course! Deffinatley miss this if you are a good player and looking for a challenge. Extremely flat and boring with little trees and very thick rough. The clubhouse is ok but the course does contain a decent driving range at a good price. I would recommend this course for people over a handicap of 20.

Very open course so forgiving for players who miss the fairways. Rough is quite thick and can cause finding your ball difficult even if you see it land. Biggest gripes are the stones in the bunkers and the tees are not level.
