Lovely old course

Nice well kept course. Very friendly staff and members. The course isn't very long but some of the fairways are quite narrow which means accuracy is important. Not the prettiest of courses but well worth a round and excellent value for money.

Once in my life

Good job I chose this course to play. It was only 9holes but enjoyable and quite tricky few holes are there like 1st hole! 240 yards par 3.

Delightful 9 hole links with a genuine sense of history about it as I played it on a summer's evening with showers sweeping down the Forth and a double rainbow overhead. Long, tough par 3's, bunkers that are true, steep-faced links tests and greens that demand pace control on your putts. Yes, the racecourse does kind of get in the way a bit, but this is ideal for satisfying an itch to play links golf if you don't have the time, inclination or budget to play one of the bigger East Lothian courses.

I urge you to play this little gem. As other folk have said, it's the oldest course in the world, 6 Open Championships! Walk in the footsteps of Willie Park, Tom Morris et al.

The starter was extremely knowledgable, told us a few good tales and allowed us to handle some ancient hickory clubs. Made for a pleasant change as most starters are sour faced!

Will be back.

this course now has a new clubhouse with full changing rooms and showers to upstairs is a bar etc where you can get drink and food down stairs is a nice area to sit to dont be fooled by the holes as they have slightly changed on 1 and 9 1 is now a challenging 240yrds par 3 and the 9th has a really hard green but was such a great day to play this course loved the experiance

9 hole course one of the oldest in scotland not a long course but undulating fairways and greens makes this a challenge. and excellent value for a quick 9 holes.
