Musselburgh is a top class championship course designed by James Braid in 1938. The length from the championship tees is a testing 6725 yards and with a par 71, SSS 72 it is a quality test of golf. Built round a bend of the river Esk, it has relatively flat tree-lined yet generous fairways. The Craigie burn meanders over some fairways giving golfers the option of laying up short or going for the green.
To have any hope of conquering this course you have to be able to keep the ball in play while still being long off the tee. Although it is not easy, it is still a very enjoyable course to play, which is proven by the fact that many visitors return time after time

went out with work mates today really enjoyed the course everything was in top condiction its a pritty long course so it give you a chance to play alot of clubs in the bag wide fairways aswell so you can let the ball rip got nothing bad to say about this course at all (only thing is that its £60 to play in the summer if you is a visitor without a member and you cant play on sat and limited times for visitors on sunday from 11 to 12 only they also use winter mats in the winter so £60 would probely put off alot of people)

having been a member for over 10 years in the past i must say this is one of the top golf courses i have played it has everything you could and should want from a golf course long holes so you can use most of your clubs in your bag i would have to say my fav hole is the 9th you hit a tee shot just short of a small burn and your second shot is up hill to a two tear green the 15th is prritty nice hole aswell i must say the club house is pritty big insite aswell it has two rooms one with sky tv and sky sports and the other just a bar if you just want to chill out without the tv on a really nice set up the jr set up is also really good a good few players have went on to the amateur over in the states they also hold the local open qulafiers only downside is they use fairway mats in the winter

Played a couple times nice parkland course good greens with a couple tough par 4s, does hold a lot of water after down pour and couple blind ditches on the middle holes.
