Situated in the grounds of Oswald Manor, the Oswald Golf Course is a challenging golf course surrounded beautiful countryside. The course is well kept and has some well positioned hazards around the course to make it a good test. High and low handicappers alike will enjoy a round of golf here.

Course Information
Location
Location: From the South via A1(M) Leave at Junction 61 signed Peterlee/Spennymoor, take the second exit off the roundabout marked A177 Bowburn, this road takes you to Durham City. In approximately 2 miles you will pass Houghall College of Agriculture, on the left. About 500 yards further on is a roundabout, take the first exit, after a further 500 yards you will come to a set of traffic lights, the New Inn is on your right, turn left at the traffic lights. On either side of the road are the University Colleges when you pass the last college, approx. ¼ mile up the hill, you will see a brown information sign directing you to Mount Oswald. The Manor and Golf Course are to your right on the brow of the hill. From the North via A1(M) Leave at Junction 62 signed Sunderland/Durham take the third exit off the roundabout marked A690 Durham, follow the signs for Durham City. At the end of the dual carriageway take the third exit off Roundabout. Down the hill to the next roundabout filter left. Cross over the river straight on through the traffic lights, and follow signs for Darlington. At the traffic lights, a "Y" junction, go right. You will come to a further set of traffic lights, the New Inn is on your left, go straight on. fairly nice course, some of the greens had been affected by ice over last few weeks and made greens a bit rough very windy on day but still had a good game

we played a four at the weekend,weather was horrendous,non stop rain,windy.we all had a good game until the lightening started ,went to clubhouse for lunch,freindly staff,some of holes very good some of holes fairly bland overall nice course

A top track for cost and playability. This mature Parkland course was in excellent condition , good true greens with undulating fairways in good condition. The front 9 is testing but also gives you a chance to warm up for a bit more of an open back 9. The course was challenging, without being out of reach. Great off course facilities in the old Manor House with friendly, smart and very curteous staff. This Golf Course is well worth a visit

An excellent course to learn on, thanks to an equal mix of forgiving and challenging holes. It is almost two courses, as the first 8 holes are tighter and require accuracy off the tee to make par, whilst the final 10 holes are (in the main) fairly straightforward, and reward you if you attack the tee. Having said that, there are excellent holes on both sections, most notably the blind second shot on 16 to a green far below you, and the 5th, which requires luck and skill to reach the green in two.
On the negative side, some of the back nine do seem slightly mundane compared to the front nine, with little to break up the course except for a few bunkers. There is a distinct lack of fairway bunkers, which sometimes makes it easy to just hit and hope with your tee shot, as there is little prospect of getting into trouble.
In Summer, the course is well maintained and a great golf day out, with a glorious final hole by the Manor house.

Play well, keep it straight = shoot low. Brilliant little course with some great holes in a beautiful setting. You won't find any better course charging double the green fees

Good course in open parkland with mature trees based around a country mansion house for a club house. Course fairly flat and easy to navigate around. Meals are available in club house which appears to be open to general public.
