More could be done on the fairways but a reasonable day out.

Very pleasent parkland course in great condition. A few short par 4 but tight enough to still be a challenge

Golf course review of Morpeth Golf Club

Morpeth offers a short course but with some tight tee shots (primarily due to the course being split by a road which always comes into your thinking when standing on a tee with a driver in your hand). It is always in good condition but can step up to being in excellent nick at certain times of the year. My recent visit backed that up - the greens were fantastic - a lot quicker than I expected but more akin to the higher standards that most clubs aspire to.

I believe some more fairway bunkers would benefit the course to test the thinking off the tee box but in general there are parts of the course that will punish you and parts that will be forgiving for any medium handicappers like myself prone to the odd 'loose one'.

The clubhouse is excellent albeit a little old fashioned in terms of decor - but I believe that this suits the members. A good range of beers are on offer and the food is always good. However I would point out that the members here are sticklers for the dress code so make sure that you are properly attired for the course and seperately for the clubhouse!!

Golf course review of Morpeth Golf Club

A pleasant course in a tranquil and picturesque setting. It has some nice holes without any of them being stunning or dramatic. Overall a good standard example of a parkland course. On the whole the course is quite tight, bunkers left a lot to be desired as did the greens, which were very wooly.
