Moortown Golf Club
Moortown has always held a richly deserved reputation as one of the country's finest Championship Golf courses. Originally designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, Moortown is set in 125 acres of dramatically contrasting mainly level woodland and moorland.
From the opening par 5 there are many fine holes to enjoy including the new 6th, rated the most difficult, and the famous Gibraltar par 3 10th with its sloping plateau green, the Club's signature hole.

What a fantastic course, top class bunker sand making the fairway bunkers genuine hazards to avoid. The course is long, but so classy. Fairways were great, if you edged of them then it's bye bye Mr Par. This course is expensive, but it's an experience worth having at least once..

Played a Ryder Cup format for the Army against the American Forces on this course. The course was immaculate along with the services, facilities and staff. They could have not done anymore for us. The scoreboard showing all the names of the players gave it a professional outlook. Hosted the first Ryder Cup on European soil in 1929. Would fully recommend a round on this course.

Excellent course, superbly kept and manicured, however not for the faint hearted, if you go off the fairway you wont make par, greens quite fast and tricky to read. A thorough test of any golfers ability irrespective of handicap!
