Great course for anyone starting to play golf or returning from a long time off. Very forgiving with it's wide fairways but does have some very tricky holes. Would recommend going with someone who has played the course before, as there are no directions to your next hole and a few holes have a hike through woodland paths between them. As local authority courses go this is very good and recommended for value for money ( £15 for a Saturday ) , no waiting at holes...very enjoyable, would definately play again.

This is a municipal course in the middle of Middleton Park. As such it does suffer a bit from oiks, but overall a pretty fair test of skill (although short) with signature holes the par four 13th dogleg right over a valley, the difficult par 4 15th all uphill, and very short par 3 16th over trees and valley. Go on give it a go

Quite a few badly maintained holes, no flags, not many signs so difficult to find your way around. Poor facilites, 19th hole wasn't open!

this is the worst course i have ever played, some of the greens were unplayable and looked like a combined harvester had ploughed them!!!

Middleton provides a good challenge for the average high handicapper like me. It has only one par five, however, it makes up for this with some nice challangeing par three's. I think the signature hole is the long uphill par 4 15th at 400 yards it take two really solid hits to reach this green.
Anyhow at 10.50 per round weekdays and 13.50 at weekends it will not break the bank. Although a municple course, it is well cared for. I hope you take the opportunity to play this course when you can.

I played this on Saturday 20th June 09, and i have to say i was extreamly impressed. very well looked after and massive wide fairways to really give it your all. The course is set out excellent and has much improved from a few years ago. I must mention the greens, they are excellent, no weeds or moss anywhere. Only thing it misses is small details like hole yardage markers and proper flags, but i feel this is a suffer from the surrounding area. All in all a great days golf if your up for a challenge !
