Mid Sussex Golf Club
Designed to high specifications by renowned course architect David Williams and former winner of the European Open, Andrew Murray, Mid Sussex Golf Club first opened its doors to the public in 1995. Since then we have been fortunate to host such events as the Sussex Mid-Age Championship, the Sussex Seniors Open and a number of County Matches and Events, which is a great tribute to the quality of the course.
The course is set in surprisingly mature parkland and features superbly contoured greens, interesting natural water hazards and a host of strategically placed bunkers. It is maintained year round to a high standard, without the need for temporary tees and greens.Contact Information

nice course at the foot of the downs.
not the most difficult test of ability as the yardage indicates.
strong par 4s at 2 and 17 however, and one of the best par 5s at 14 you will hope to play.
the new owners have clearly invested time and money into the place, but the trouble with drainage still appears to exist.
the bunkers are not in play (water logged) for probably 3 months of the year.
the sort of club i would consider joining if it werent for the wet and the price. The Course

A fairly flat course. Some holes quite open. Others challenging. A good course. Decent quality of greens and fairways and one or two great holes.

Always enjoy playing here, not majorly challenging but plays well for all abilities. Greens are normally in good condition, with interesting undulations, some of which are in the "Salmon Rushty" bracket (difficult read). Friendly, welcoming staff in the club house.

A field of holes, should be a lot better in the heart of sussex, lacks imagination on the flat course design...

Although a fairly young course being flat and relatively wide fairways the condition of recent months has been excellent.
The quality of the bunkers has been the main concern and work is being undertaken to ensure this situation is addressed.
The greens are improving each season and re at present the best they have been for some time. The Course

Having just stepped off the course again, in the sunshine (I thought it'd never appear) I can say that my impression has changed about the greens, the greens staff have had a chance to mow the grass a little tighter and they are rolling true and nicely paced.
Unfortunately for me the bunkers were back in play, though I only hit a couple of fairway bunkers which were in good condition, I couldn't comment on the greenside ones.
A nice test of golf and good surroundings, recommended for all levels (as long as you can play near to 28 at worst). The Course

Having just stepped off the course I can say that the layout, variation of holes and surroundings are excellent, however the greens do let the course down, the were very slow and putts don't always run true. All the bunkers were out of play due to the wet weather we have had recently. I am going to give the greens the benefit of doubt due to the weather also and try again when the ground's a bit dryer to see if my opinion changes.
