The Mere Golf Club
Chester Road, Mere, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6LJ United Kingdom
The 6,817-yard, par-71 course was created out of 150 acres of Cheshire parkland in 1934. Mature trees, rhododendron bushes and the lake add considerable charm to a day’s golf but they are also there to test you.Book a Tee Time

A beautiful course, well set up to test golfers of all standards. Set in idyliic surroundings next ro Lake Mere, the course has many undulating fairways, so position off the tee is key. Distance is not overly important as most par 4's are around the 400 yard distance.
The greens allow you to put a nice roll on the putt, so once you have picked your line, go for it and trust the greens consistency. They are quite quick in the summer months, so try and finish below the hole or else you will have a tricky downhill putt left.
The final 4 holes are memorable. It is vital to be in a good position off the tee, avoiding the many trees and bunkers that will catch you out if you hit an errand shot.
Enjoy the views, enjoy the houses, enjoy the game!

Superb course, lovely greens and fairways, well designed with loads of bunkers to catch you out. Enjoyed there driving range... Its basically the lake and you hit floater golf balls into it! Very novel and amusing.
A must if your in the area, can get some good deals online too.
Beware of the aircraft tho, only a few miles from Manchester Airport and they do make a lot of noise!

Very, very welcoming staff. A beautiful place to enjoy a challenging round of golf. This is worth every penny of your green fees

Felt as though we were playing a 'Big Boys Course'
You have to try it!

Played early on a Thursday got a cracking deal through one of the tee booking websites at £25, course was wet after rains and greens were hollow-tined and well grassed so quite slow, but the teeing areas and fairways are examplary and there are more staff working on the course than at any other in the area. Great experience
