Not flat but fair and a great challenge

Not flat but fair and a great challenge,
The course was in great condition,
The greens whilst not mega fast were really good to put on

Great course

Well maintained course, hard but fair. Great pro shop service. Only slight complaint would be that slow play is not uncommon.

Never been before, but will definitely be going again. Nice layout. Tree lined and don't miss the fairways as the rough is penal.

A must play course

I've heard very good reviews and comments about this course, but never actually played there before. It was chosen as a halfway point between myself and my playing partner, he lives in Northampton. I live in Leicester. We were blessed with sunny dry conditions, however, the wind thought it would Blow a little to make the course a lot more challenging. Upon arrival, we were greeted with friendly pro shop assistant who pointed us in the right direction, and as first time players of the course we were offered to start before a fourball who were only doing nine holes, but we elected to follow them as course guidance (quite a rarity among members).

All I can say is the elements beat me here today. The fairways were in tiptop condition some rough spots on the greens, but they are being sorted out, and all I can say is what a pleasure and a gem this place is. Although it is hilly , I didn't feel it was too taxing a walk as a few other courses in the area. The scenery and views were just stunning and very well kept golf course which myself and my partner decided we would return to again hopefully less wind next time round.

Lovely parkland course

This is a lovely parkland course which we enjoyed playing. There?s some challenging holes and a few easier ones. A short par 3 made for an interesting hole. The layout is good and on one of the holes you have a view over surrounding countryside. Clubhouse was nice.

Excellent visit

Excellent course in good condition. Hilly course par 5's hard, interesting par 3's a lot of variety on the course. Putting was difficult due to speed and slop, some multi tier greens.

A hidden gem of a course!

Agreed to join a couple of ex work colleagues as a central location. I have lived 15 miles away from MHGC and know how flat a county it can be so expected a fairly ordinary parkland course. What a surprise I got. so many rolling hills and excellent panoramic views. The back nine in particualr has some readl wow moments from the 11th tee looking out over the town and especially around 13. Some stunning views. Favourite hole was 16 with the approach to a sunken green and the 17th to follow is so picturesque. The greenkeepers have done an amazing job but watch out for the greens.....they are so fast. twice the speed of my home course. So I struggled (34 putts) and some lightning fas downhillers. Can't wait to go back.
Really friendly lady in Proshop who i think was also one of the the pros (Kelly?) who was very helpful, friendly and knowledable.
Well done Market Harborough GC - a surprising treat and £30 a round was worth it.

Short, but in good nick

This is short, but a very enjoyable track. In good condition, although it was surprising to play off mats in June on the Par 3's. All three of us said we would go back and play again.

Played a 3 ball at this interesting course Friday 7 Feb 2020, the welcome was cordial from both staff and a couple of members. Clubhouse facilities were good and had a post match snack lunch from a very inexpensive and varied menu. Course was in good condition in spite of the recent very wet spell, greens were true and well kept, and damp and well trodden areas were cordoned off obviously to prevent course damage. This did not detract from the enjoyment of the course which had a good variety of holes over undulating ground with great views across rural Leicestershire and the town of Market Harborough. Would highly recommend the course for a great day out.
