HIGHLY RATED - 100% would play again or recommend

What the club says: The oldest club in West Sussex, and also the only links course in the area. The course offers a true test of ability, and with excellent drainage, remains playable all year round. A great course that is very well kept and is a joy to play.

I think the last review was a tad harsh ! everyone can have their own opinion but to say littlehampton has no memorable holes ?? how about the par 3 3rd over a sea of gorse or par 4 14th with the rife running the length of the hole with a very hard green ? or maybe the 16th across two rifes to well protected green ? and many more. perhaps you are are very low handicap player and found it easy in mild no wind conditions ? any good links course are not famed for lush fairways that is part of the challenge !

An 18 hole round set me back around £40, which for me is around the right price for a good course. Unfortunately... this is not one. On approach to the Club, the course looks in fantastic condition and leaves me eager to get onto the 1st tee. The staff in the Pro shop are friendly and the practice green in fantastic condition considering it is Winter. From the 1st tee everything went downhill for me. The fairways from holes 2-12 are in very poor condition. Most looking fairly bare and very poor quality. This could be forgiven in small areas, but this was for 25% of the first hole, then high percentages of the rest of the holes through to 12. I can only assume it is something to do with being near the Seafront as the further you got from the Seafront, the better the fairways became. The rough is very well kept and challenging which was a plus, as were the greens which maintained a good putting surface despite being winter conditions and the recent poor weather. Having only played it yesterday, it is disappointing also that there is not a single stand out hole that I can remember, with all holes feeling very similar. Membership is currently over £1000 for a male adult, but I can honestly say that I would not play this course again, even if I were to be given lifetime membership for free. After Hole 3, I contemplated leaving the course, only to be persuaded to stay on by my friend as we had each paid £38 for this 'Privilege'. Next time I will either stick to Hill Barn in worthing which is currently very well kept and playing well, or go to Rustington Golf Centre, which despite being a 2 x Varied 9 rather than Full 18, is a much more enjoyable course to play, with significantly more interesting features than that of Littlehampton Golf Club. Overall I feel let down as this course is not as the website would ahve you believe.

Links-ish style course. Right on the coast but disappointingly not many views out to see. Not as foreboding as the club website would have you believe. A good knock-around; would return.

It was hard not to be impressed by the course, but maybe that was partly down to the gorgeous summer-like weather and the lack of a stiff breeze. The course was in really good condition, and on a £25 brunch and 18 hole winter deal it was well worth the fee. Maybe it gets tougher with the weather, or perhaps the rough is allowed to grow for the wayward tee shots, but I didn't find it as hard a course as some reviewers had suggested, despite my "faulty" driver keeping me away from the fairways. Well worth a visit.

The course is set right on the coastline with many elevated tees offering great views out to see, at times it feels like you could be playing one of the great links in the UK! Overall this is a nicely looked after track that is a tough, tough challenge in blustery conditions.
